Well. That was just awesome.
Piece of shit, I'm starting to think of it as.
Qualified 6th of 15, and was set up for a really good race, having managed 5th in not ideal circumstances last time.
Click Race, to go to the grid, and it throws me down out of place, right behind the lead guy. With no force feedback.
I tried to tell Tim I was out of place, but apparently started the race anyway. I tried my best but on the second lap it was clear that it considered me to be in last place, and wasn't actually telling me I was being blue flagged or anything, or timing my laps. So I gave up.
I'm sick of being screwed out of races by this game for no good reason, and not being able to do anything about it. Sitting fifth in that series it was the one I really cared about, and this happens... Essentially putting me out of any hope of retaining that place I figure.
Well, I don't kno [... more]
I've been wondering about this all evening now...
In quali in the GT Pro earlier this evening, I'm coming round Chateau d'Eau, and someone's gone off track ahead of me. So, I come through carefully, but take the lead as it were, since I'm still on a (better than my last) fast lap.
Then, coming through the chicane, he punts me from behind, mid chicane, firing me off and into the wall, losing both wheels and killing my engine.
So, that's me out of quali. But unlike in a race, I'm the one who suffers there, he went on to continue qualifying.
OK, it didn't matter as I then had a power cut, and coudn't get back in before the race start (though it would have only been everyone sitting on the grid, consarn it!), and it may be that it's a rare problem too, but well... It caught me!
Is there any leeway as to the esc rule in qualifying, when things like this happen?
Second race it's dropped connection to in as many days. I don't know if it's just that I can't get a decent connection to the server at what is peak time for this country or something, but... It's insane.
Anyway, apologies for not taking part in two races now that I was registered for. I tried, I really did. Up until it said, 'you may only join sessions in practice or qualifying'.
If I'm up (which is a possibility) I might switch to the US legs of the series, which seemed to work alright last night for the sports class. I'd prefer it not to have to be a permanent switch, as some of them are late enough it would really hurt. I know I'm willing to get up in the middle of the night to watch a race, but... Well they only happen on Sundays for one.
Or not.
You start off thinking being ill isn't really going to affect you. I ran I don't know howmany practice and qualifying laps in all today, then come the race, ten/fifteen minutes in, I'm exhausted, far too hot and just making such a farce of it all. Figured I could at least run to the end and then overcooked it and caught that tyre wall end after the first corner that is so vicious.
Oh well... Probably the cars I'm worst with. The GT Pro I feel much more comfortable in, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Was doing shit this evening, but really looking forward to racing tin tops in the GT Sport series round Zandvoort. Then, after warmup, it just freezes. I mean, not totally, just the view of those on track was frozen and such. Exited and it wouldn't even relist servers.
And of course, race underway when it does decide to stop dicking me around.
Damnit.
I've been mostly too unwell to race anyway, so it might be a blessing, but it's pissed me off. God, I hope I can get through the 3000 race this weekend, as open wheel is more my style anyway. Oh well...
Bored now.
