Stuck in a funk
Nov 02, 2008

Been out of commission in the race car for a while. just too much to do around of the house lately with six (yes, I said six) kids under the belt. or should I say under the foot?

I'm on the fence with which simulation to run more of - I mean I only have four and it seems like switching back and forth requires too much of a re-learning curve. GTR Evo is definitely my favorite but there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of the events to run.

Then there's the whole iRacing thing. (oops... did I say that on R2P)? nothing to fear, I just can really get the feel for it and can't see spending all that money to unlock all the cars - legends and solstices just don't fill my need for speed :)

As for setup and feel I'm a sucker for realism I go full bore on force feedback steering vibration and wheel rotation. I have a logitech G25 and have been very frustrated with the throt [... more]

Much better R2P!
Sep 24, 2008

Thanks a ton for getting rid of that 7 day delay for signups, it will help me focus on individual series' immensely. Much better than trying to use outlook reminders or some other stupidity.

Before you call me out on being a cheap skate, note that I will still be signing up to run other series requiring membership. This is how it should be when you're dealing with seasons and I think it may be smart to add the "membership required" feature to more select series. I think this will promote guests becoming more of regulars instead of just looking at "what pickup races can I get in on at R2P".

Exige - Monja Jr
Sep 21, 2008

Set development and time attack at Monza Jr. in the Exige tonight. Was lapping consistent 49's with the bad laps @ 50.5 ish.

Set One ---
Lock: 10
Bias: 57:43
Soft/Soft
Duct @ 2 Rad @ 3
Gear 2 through 6 up toward top speed
Diff @ 25/25

Set Two --- (Symmetrical)

Fpsi: 25.8
FFB: 1
FSB: 3
FFR: 4
FSR: 5
Springs: 1313
RH: 2.5559in
Frollbar: 286 lb
Toe: -.40

Rpsi: 25.5
RFB: 2
RSB: 7
RFR: 6
RSR: 6
Springs: 1142
RH: 2.953in
Wing: 4
RearRollbar: 114 lb
Toe: +.30

Going to have to keep this beast straight though the 'cane to win this one. Those walls are Naaaasty! That's where the fast laps are made on Jr though. Good news is that even on softs and running hot laps, tires don't over heat, just brake smooth, trail to the apex and ease in. Don't fear pulling taller gears with the wing clicked out to 4, it can be beneficial. Logic in this setup is to remove as much roll bar as po [... more]

Mid-Ohio Gt3 Cup
Sep 20, 2008

Got a good 20+ laps in at Mid-Ohio today in the GT3Cup. Prep for next week. Finally got to a good feeling set and ran up close to the AI times in the NGT's (124.9) - probably doesn't mean shit though - AI is usually pretty slow at Add on tracks. At least I found some throttle sensitivity adjustment that works. Ended up adding some rear toe in and taking the wing down to 5, close ratio'd the dogs, air'd the slicks and was really starting to feel the flow of the track. Keep practicing! Off to practice torching up some s'mores with the kids.

Current G25 set running 500 degrees rotation, 10 deg lock, Full force 100% in game and wingman.

Realism is cockpit view, 100% G effect / world movement. Back to 0 on look to apex, just don't like the wobble during quick corrections. Might look into TrackIR, would come in handy.
