F3 Sprint at Barcelona
Mar 29, 2007

My first r2p event went better than I thought, finishing smack in the middle of the Gauss curve as 8th of 16 participants.

The racing was quite good, especially trying (unsuccessfully) to prevent George Pol from reeling me in over the last 4 or five laps. He managed a great pass into T1 after the S/F straight, I gave him some room to breathe, all fine.

My first R2P race
Mar 28, 2007

Well, Pat's post on RAS finally got me to put my R2P account created in 12/2006 to some use, signing up for an F3 sprint race at Barcelona.

While I don't especially like neither car class nor the circuit, I am looking forward to meeting some simracing celebs on track again: Alison Hine, for one, I remember from a long time back, when I had my first online racing experiences in GPL, racing her (and beating her brother, who was a "real race car driver" at the time, supposedly) in a ten lapper at Monza. I felt so proud! ;-)

Also Tim McAthur has an impressive track record, but while I'm only a lowly ranking hacker, I'm hoping to add my bit to the mix tonight!
