Knee operation no.2 done
Jan 21, 2010

Just got home from having torn cartilage in my right knee dealt with, in at 7.30am home by 3.30pm. Knee feels as good as could be expected and walked out of the hospital with no crutches, so great result.

Hopefully will not impact racing too much, I have next week off work anyway, but may adopt the Zanardi "accelerator on steering wheel" option if it is still rough.

I could get used to this kids waiting on me thing though quite easily :-0

For me more than anyone.
Aug 26, 2007

End of season five.

Overall Career Rank - 5.257
Sports Car Rank - 5.213
Touring Car Rank - 5.377
Open Wheel Rank - 5.212
Overall Rolling Rank - 4.663
Sports Car Rolling Rank - 5.413
Touring Car Rolling Rank - 5.540
Open Wheel Rolling Rank - 4.075

Results - 62
Wins - 1
Top 3 - 8
Top 10 - 52
Poles - 0
DNF's - 14

Why?
Well basically to see how season 6 goes, but also to see what effect my new PC has on my rankings and therefore implicitly on my overall results. This based on my theory that the better the PC the better the control of the car and so that should translate in terms of results.

Season 6 to prove the theory.....

3 Years at Race2Play....
Dec 15, 2009

... well 3 years and a day as I forgot to post with the euphoria of winning a race in the Caterhams at Magny Cours :-]

Still loving it, cannot imagine not racing, nor can my wife!

Only 25 races to go to the 500 as well, which will average out at roughly 3 races a week for 3 years.

Apparently I have children somewhere, I see little people round the house must be them I guess.

Thanks to T&T for such a great operation.

Now to practice for the next race....

Some timely observations.

Benjamin Franklin
At twenty years of age, the will reigns; at thirty, the wit; and at forty, the judgment.

Helen Rowland
What most persons consider as virtue, after the age of 40 is simply a loss of energy.

Anonymous
At the age of twenty, we don't care what the world thinks of us; at thirty, we worry about what it is thinking of us; at forty, we discover that it wasn't thinking of us at all.

Arthur Schopenhauer
The first forty years of life give us the text: the next thirty supply the commentary.

How to Know That You Are Getting Very Old:

* You are upset to find out that they don't make needles for your phonograph any longer....

* You cannot taste anything without a couple shakes of Tabasco sauce on it....

* You can live without sex but you sure cannot without glasses....

* Singing along with elevator music, has become a habit....

Freddie Mercury RIP 24th November 1991
Nov 24, 2009

18 years ago today Freddie Mercury left this world.

I can still feel now my grief that day, and remember the outpouring from so many fans. A truly awesome performer.

Can you beat this run?
Oct 21, 2009

My next four events are all new track to me, hard as it seems having driven 194 different tracks!

Saturday night Knutstorp rollercoaster ride in the Seat Leon's

Sunday night Arca madness round San Jose's one car wide street course, followed by the evil kerbing of Fundidora Park in the CART 95 series.

Then, what is purely my own doing, Formula Trainers round Cadwell Park.

This all comes after my first outing round Buenos Aires '79 in a Williams in the RaceBrasil chapter event, making it five new tracks in a row!

200'th track? November 8th at Montreal in the Arca series :-]

Oh and by that point depending what I drive I may have driven 200 different tracks using nearly 90 different cars according to the stats.

The best rock band you have never heard of...
Nov 30, 2008

In their words!, Went to see Thunder last Thursday for the first time in 15 years, and 19 years since I first saw them play supporting Aerosmith.

An awful lot of people have never heard of them, but they are a great band and the live show was great, Danny has a lot less hair than when he started but the voice is still stunning, and he has a laugh with the crowd as well.

Enjoy the videos below.
