Around 2 years and 20 days since we passed the 100,000 miles raced marker, the Phoenix Racing team have now doubled up!
That puts us in an exclusive club with 7 other teams (past and present).
Many thanks to all drivers who've ever raced for the team, without your willingness to drive for a "non-alien based" team, we would never have got this far:).
We've taken part in 1,856 events; using 11 Sims; 250 different cars driven; 411 tracks; 682 topics in our Forum - and 10,596 posts therein; 1,650 screenshots by team drivers; 71 wins; 403 podiums and 66 Pole Positions - and of course 21 Team Championships too.
Well done the Phoenix boys!
Simbin are currently in Cologne at a Games Convention showing off a new "Free" game and concept based on their newest engine - apparently with the opportunity to purchase more cars/tracks should you so wish.
There's a short trailer video showing some of the content......looks VERY GOOD:-

My faithful old Momo (nearly 4 years of use at R2P) was showing signs of wear and tear, shall we say! Kept on having to take apart the pedals in particular due to spiking, but the wheel (though squeeking) was holding it's own.
(Old picture, old house, current desk with old PC and old Monitor, but this was my Momo in situ).
Anyway, Mr taxman owed me some money and after begging the wife (trust me, I am not joking) when I found the G27 on offer online at half the normal price, the deal was done, arriving middle of last week.
A lot more wires involved, but setting it up on the desk proved no issue:-
Had to set it up for ARCA and Race 07 (events that coming weekend), and utilising my Momo settings with slight tweaks only I got great feel from the wheel and pedals in both games.
Indeed, on it's debut the G27 (mmm, plus me I suppose!) went to victory in the IMSS GT/ST Hockenheim race.....followed by victory in the ARCA Rockingham 'Hour' event.....and 2nd place in the ARCA Rockingham Ultimate Challenge event, all in the space of 19 hours.
I think you could say it suits me well, but what I did find was the "feedback" from wheel and pedals gave me a lot more confidence - and a definite improvement over the Momo.
Quality is really good too - after the GT Club race (100 minutes) my hands smelt of the leather that surrounds the wheel, definitely better than the rubber of the Momo black.
Very pleased with my purchase!
It was only in September 2011 that I won my first Oval race at R2P (or anywhere) in Stock Cars (and only my 2nd ever win - the first being a Road Course at Montreal back in 2009).
And just last week, 10 months later, I've chalked up another 8 victories - making 10 in total (all ARCA Sim Racing).
But the reason for the Blog and the Milestone in question is quite a limited club I would believe:-
I've now won on a Road Course; Short tracks (1 mile or less); normal ovals (over 1 mile up to 2 miles); a Tri oval (Pocono); and last week a Superspeedway (Talladega).
What's so special about that, you may ask?
Well, each has to be approached in very differing ways, driven differently, car set up differently. I haven't checked it out, but I would imagine the number of drivers who have achieved this in R2P history would be very limited indeed.
Yet another milestone after hitting the 'sweet-spot' in ARCA since late 2011. I really still can't believe it myself!!!
