My rFactor won't start Help
10:49 PM on Oct 28, 2007

I did the upgrade the other day and had no problems whatsoever, did it to 2 installed versions. Now I go to practice and the only thing that happens is the rFactor logo appears and then it loops right out to my desktop both versions????

Any help guys I tried new activation again, it said you are now ready, but I think something else is going on here. My second version is a pure version with only one MOd on it and has been working flawlessly also.

Somebody had mentioned here b/4 conflicts with Steam, are you running that?

I think he is referring to my post/situation. I don't think that really turned out to be anything in my situation. I know it is not steam related, I think it has something to do with my firewall, but I am not completely sure yet...

Anybody know if rFactor can do a "trace" like GTR2? Might be helpful here?

I saw someone do a trace but I have no clue on that.

To run a trace, add "-trace=30" to your rFactor shortcut. It will create a file called "trace.txt" in your UserData folder. No guarantee it will tell you anything useful, but worth a shot.

Are you using a software firewall, like Kerio?

Nope additional firewall sent a trace file to Enis we'll see, don't look promising.

I have heard of guys having similar problems due to their antivirus...

Mine takes a very long time to start since the upgrade, and the movies play extremely chunky, like a frame every 2 seconds. I'm luckier than Gregg though, at least it plows through and makes it to the main menu.
