Alonso finally signed up for Renault despite the efforts of Ron Dennis for not to letting him, maybe he is scared because Fernando could win Lewis with eyes shut (I'm not saying that Hamilton was a looser, he proved he could win in the office)

It sure will be a great season with an epic rivalry... awesome.
Renault will languish even with Alonso back behind the wheel. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT even for a second underestimate Ferrari. It's still somewhat a 2 pony race at the front of the grid, but with McLaren in the logistical nightmare of being down 2 pit stalls and not even having enough credentials to get the whole technical staff into the paddock, there could be allot more trouble than losing all that money last year for them! Schumacher jumps back in the car at Barcelona for testing and is .2 faster than Badoer! Say what you will about Schumi, the man is ridiculous quick. Was Schumacher’s performance a product of true talent outweighing gadgetry in F1? I say that to say this. We have taken a step backwards in F1. For better or worse, I can't see any other way to look at the loss of traction control. If F1 is supposed to be about the best drivers on earth driving the most sophisticated 4 wheeled petrol powered vehicles on the planet, then we are looking at a serious downward technology spiral. Active Suspensions, nope too many failures according to the FIA. Proper racing Slicks, uh uh the cars are too fast we need three groves on the tires. That'll slow em down! Ludicrous downforce, take 75% of it away and the engineers will find a way to get it back. Now TC is gone as well. I don't really see TC being gone as the death knell of the sport. I honestly think it will make the spectacle that much better. I'm really hoping it will be the true measure of talent we have been looking for so many years now. Can all these young drivers that have never driven a 200hp car without TC come to grips with not having it? We shall see! I think the show will be better for it being gone, but at the same time I miss the technology already. I might be the only one on the planet that actually loved hearing the TC ratchet, straining to make full use of every last HP. I want to see the modern day equivalent of something with six wheels lining up to take the green. I want a new Fan Car. I want to hear about Lotus making a triumphant return to F1 with a chassis made of unobtanium and weighing negative 42 pounds. I'd rob a bank to pay for the ticket to witness Audi putting their new diesel F1 effort on poll at the German GP! These are the things we used to see in F1. Ridiculous innovation executed to perfection. I miss those days and I desperately hope they return before I am forced to leave this planet. I hope we see some of the old guard back at the sharp end of the grid in 2008. Rubens as 2008 Champion? How cool would that be! Sean
If Alonso wasn't such an arrogant little jerk he would be one of the greats but now that Lewis is the man at Mercedes he will be the 2008 Champ. Alonso will be lucky to be in the top 5. After he pulled that delay from the pit to keep Lewis from another qual lap last year he showed his true colors.

Hamilton champ 2008? Muahahahahahhahahahahahaaa...

As obvious a choice as this is, there is no mention of this on any of the official sites. Where are you getting your infomation from José?
I take the information from Marca newspaper, you can read it at marca.com and see a summary of the season from a Spanish point of view
On reading it that smacks of little more than pro Spanish vitrious tabloid journalism. I think I'll wait for an official announcement.
Alonso to Renault is official now. And the twat Piquet jr. foams about earning his race seat by his results as test driver this season. LMAO
Obviously Kovalainen outperforming Fisichella wasn't enough... Huh
Two words enis: Loadsa Money... I am also expecting Piquet to give Alonso a hard time this season... and not because of his own pace. |
