S6 WrapUp

Seems to be that time to close the file on S6.

Very impressed by Ground Effects Racing, or as Enis renamed us Geriatric Racing, even though I am not qualified to change the tires of Craig, Steve, or Jeff much less race with them. What an astounding campaign by those 3. Continual wins or podiums by those three. A major learning experience for me to see the amount of preparation those three studs put in to get ready for a race. The only thing I regret about S6 was failing to ask Ray G to join us. I misunderstood when his deployment started and he was left on his own. I privately apologized to Ray for that and I do so publicly now. Sorry Ray; I owe you one.

Personally, disappointed with my own season with a horrifying 3 DNFs even though the races which I finished resulted in good solid finishes. I know that the series was a pain for HRH to admin and I understand his reasons for killing off the series for S7. So even though I will miss my beloved GP79 as an official series next season, there is at least Christian's independent chapter to which I look forward.

As to CT Racing, what a thrill to work with Uncle Bob, Patrick, and my cousin from the old country, Francesco Zargani. Unfortunately, we came up short against Crash Test for the TPSCC team title. However, a great team which worked very well together.

Stockcars....so good to be back in them after having been gone for so long. The field has to proved to be an outstanding bunch of racers; tough but clean. Moreover, we all help each other and the practices are almost as competitive as the races. In alot of ways, this collection of drivers reminds me of when TM.net started. Greg Carrier and Bill Johnson have shown us all the way and the field has become so good that the difficulties of rfactor and stockcars have become almost irrelevant. Who cares about its quirky flag throwing when we go almost entire races without yellows? The only drawback is there is no margin for error and no one seems to be able to stop Conor.

My season started out pretty solid but went through a bad streak during the middle. As the field became better and better, missing on the setup and bad luck with incidents proved costly. I got back a little bit during the last two races and closed out the season on respectable note so there is reason to be hopeful for S7. Adding to my outlook is that I finally got a win at R2P in a thrilling last lap battle with Mike L, Jeremy D, and Tom M at Daytona.

S7 should be a blast. Conor has been gracious enough to take me back at Socal and I look forward to working with him and Mike. Looks like my S7 will focus just about solely on stockcars and I wish the first race was today.

On a substantive note, I am also very proud of Todd and Tim for their accomplishments in building R2P. These two break their backs and sacrifice much to make this amusement park happen. I urge anyone reading this to consider becoming a paying member or to donate their time or talent. We need to support them as much as they support us.

Happy New Year to the R2P gang.

Thanks to you too Joe! CT already misses ya. There's always an open seat for you anytime you want to come destroy some stock cars with us again! Happy, safe and prosperous New Year to you and your family.
