What is Stock Car?

Thats the question I would ask few months ago(two or three). I have some little idea about Nascar like big crashes and ovals but no more and of course I thought drivers have null skills of driving because they drive in ovals.
But I realised it is not true with some sim races here where I enjoyed the most with BIG competition, ability to setup the cars and close to door racing, so thanks race2play stuff for Euro Shootout.
It is just a pity Spanish public TV broadcasting only focuses on F1 I will be happy if some day they show just a 5min summary at 1am of Stock car race, but that is not profitable

"Stock Car" is the term used to describe the mentality, for lack of a better term, for the basis of the NASCAR type of oval racing. The premise was to pit drivers' abilities against each other in identical cars. The reality is, of course, another issue...

In F1, the cars are all unique except for the parts of the car the FIA regulates. The teams can use their own tranny designs, engine designs, aero packages, etc.

With NASCAR cup cars, pretty much the ONLY unique thing the cars can have is the size of the driver's seat. EVERYthing else must meet very strict templates and parameters.
