Getting Fed Up!!!!!
01:58 PM on Feb 03, 2008

I've had 3 races today which have all ended up in me getting hit in some way. Yes some may be racing accidents but contact here is getting too common when this is suposed to be "non-contact". It's really starting to get common and its no fun anymore. :(

TCC - get hit on start/finish straight, then on another lap in t2.

FABCAR - get my rear wing hit off on the "formation lap" loose a lap and i hadn't even started.

F1 - get dive bombed in T1 causing damage, then a spinner just pulls on the track and we hit.

I think a small part of the problem is (AFAIK) there are no "newbie only" races. I've heard there might be newbie servers but I haven't been able to find anything decent, and open servers are ridiculous.

I actually feel relieved when I qualify last as I can not yet brake as late, nor as quick as 95% of the field, especially when cold.

Apart from that, the fact that few do it intentionally to warrant report suggests there should be an incident tally for each driver. Just something that will reveal over time who is just a bit careless. You could own up yourself for a smaller penalty, or risk others nominating you for a larger one.

But also remember, if you weren't so damn quick, others wouldn't have to push the limit as much :-)

Yep Simon its racing contacts always happens. But u should know that if 1 makes a mistake other guy can aviod it too. U should try avoiding contacts with being extra careful. I dont say u can avoid all accidents surely, but most of them are in your hand :)

Ill post a vid in todays race which u hit me from behind after i overtook u and u called my overtaking as "stupid move". After watching this i think ull change your idea about this move and u will start thinking that; werent there my mistakes in the accidents i had today (i hope).

I hope this vid helps u to think more clear about the situations, we all are human u hit me or other guy hits u, there r moments we r unlucky but except these moments everything is under your control, avoiding or complaining pick 1.

i wasn't referring to this but ok :\ but imo you wasn't going to stop any way! I turned in and clipped your rear end. I was more worried about taking the GP1 out on my right

I dont try to say its your fault, my point is that these things happen, maybe in other race the guy who hit u had a reason like u have now. My point is that u should be well prepared to every situation on track, coz complaining brings u nothing except frustration (hope i wrote right) lol :)

Its just bad luck, we all have it sometime. These things just happen, the more you ll play, the more you will be able to get out of risky situations like this. And by play, i mean with other drivers, humans,... not PCs, those are stupidly unhuman. :P

We had a great race in that rfactor race today. The one with huge field.. :P We battled each other for a few laps, side by side racing etc... But u know what happened in Turn1 once i got in front of you. That was avoidable, never try to be 10cm behind someone with a turn coming up very soon.... go a bit other line and even if one messes up, 2nd one will have a lot more chance of being safe.

That is not going to you personal, but also to others that crashed you. Good luck with the other races, and BTCC

Oh... doesnt BTCC has quite a reputation about crashing quite a lot? :P

Seems to me he is frustrated by the accidents that occur during the formation lap in particular. In those cases there is no reason for any contact at all, the formation lap is not a racing lap and no racing should be taking place during that lap. If someone does so he is just being plain wreckless and should be penalized, in a big way, bigger than the lap 1 punting rule, imo. Laps 2 and onwards it's like open-season, go for it and hope for the best. We've all seen plenty of this in real life racing, and they just make the best of a bad situation and move on. We should do the same in sim-racing as well.
