Easin' It Down...

Yep, I know.

I was one of the people that said, "Ok. So, you're retiring? ( or practicing retiring like Finn does. ROFL.) What's the big deal? You think you gotta make some big announcement like your leaving is some big deal in the great scheme of things? Get over yourself, Mr. Man."

But, some of y'all know more about my medical history than others and you're good people and I wouldn't want to worry you if you were to give my sorry ass a second thought.

I'm cuttin it way back, kids. Takin' a breather. Dare I say callin it quits. Movin' on. I have my hands in sooo many cookie jars I need some more hands.

Gotta love life. My little school of Fish is gettin bigger and needs more dad time. The wife gradiated frum Kollidge. Now it's my tern. See? I need the skooling.

I've lost over 270lbs. I'm a (by world standards) normal looking person now and can get around like a normal (what's that?) 33 year old man.

It's time to start working on the house and make it a home. Painting, yard work, home renovation... Not a lot of time for sim racing.

I'm not gonna disappear. Y'all aren't that lucky. You'll never completely get rid of me. I have my favorite series and tracks. If I see something that sparks my fancy I may enter to wreck you. I don't think I ever got a chance to ruin one of Welker's races. Definitely one of those things you have to do before you croak. His righteously indignant rants are classics. I'm just bustin yer balls, Kent, calm down...

I'm going to continue my subscription because I love Tim and Todd like distant brothers and want to support them.

I sure hope those of you who read this also support R2P because even with your personal beefs with R2P and the way Tim runs the show, you all have to agree:

This place is by far, hands down, the BEST overall collection of sim racing we have ever seen. And I can speak with authority on that as someone with going on 10 years behind the sim wheel. There may be individual leagues that have a bit better racers or racing but overall, this place really does have it. From the support to the help from other drivers to the quality of the competition to the stats to the organization to the administration to the schedules, etc. etc. etc. ad nausem.... We all have a great resource here and you should support it. Hopefully now when I do come online I can help the boys with some stewarding like I always promised Tim I would, eheheheheh....

Take care fellas. It's been fun.

Holy crap, you lost 270lbs? Good effort! For that acheivement alone you deserve to do whatever you want with your time (otherwise of course we'd be calling you a quitter and mocking you :P).

We'll miss you Dave, don't be a stranger.

You LOST over 270 pounds????
I think that's what my wife and I weigh summed. If I read that right, then good on you, making a stand to make a difference in today's obese America! Like Scott says, you can do whatever the hell you want at this point (and have a chance at enjoying it, over the long term).

Oh and btw, you're still on the list.

The TM.net crew takes full credit for all of David's weight loss. Not too long ago David was sent a blow-up sheep. Ever since he has been dropping weight like mad... coincidence? I dont think so!

Have fun David, I know you will still be around enough to keep us all informed on how you are doing.

Just for the loss of 270 lbs. you deserve to not have to do housework for a few years! Grats on that. Good luck with the kids. Wise choice your making. Well rewarded in the end hopefully! Best of luck. What is it 800 calories each session with the sheep? times 4 times a day, times 365, times.....

David, I had no idea. That is an incredible achievement.

I wish you the and your family the very best; I respect you very highly as a person and as a competitor, and with that in mind, I know you will have success in everything you set out to do.
