I have been in Japan for just under a week now. I will admit it has been a much harder transition than I thought it would be. Not being able to do simple things like order food and ask for directions is incredibly frustrating. I did find a Starbuck's about 25 minute train ride away that has offered some familiarity in an otherwise unfamiliar place. Kicking back with a Grande Mocha while Frank Sinatra is playing has done wonders for me, too bad its so far away though. I do have more time to sim race now though :) |
Wow! How long are you there for Jimmy? Best of luck and keep us posted, it's interesting to hear about.
hey Jimmy...good to see the Eagle has landed, have fun and best of luck over there!

Good luck to you! In 6 months you will probably be fluent in Japanese. While it might be frustrating at the start the stark necessity of having to communicate will push you further in learning a new language than any class could ever do. Practice practice practice. What an experience that would be! Have fun.
I'll be here with my wife and daughter for at least 2 years, maybe more depending on how it goes. I did go out and buy a 26inch LCD the other day, but the price is comparable to what it would have cost in the US. I have inquired about purchasing an Obutto cockpit but they have not responded yet. Thanks for the kind words guys. I don't know what I would do without the internet!
Wow, Japan has always been a place that has interested me... good luck Jimmy and keep us updated!
Hey Jimmy, I've read that Japan has the fastest Internet speeds on Earth. How about hitting us with a speedtest!
Post a few pics of the nature if you have time - I'm under impression that it's very beautiful. No, Starbucks pics won't do. Koketsu ni irazunba koji o ezu. If you do not enter the tiger's cave, you will not catch its cub. Konnichiwa. :) |
