I just got my G25 last week and am having some performance issues. I love the wheel quality, the pedals and the buttons on the shifter pod. My problem is this... it appears there is lag from my inputs into the wheel to what I see on the monitor in-game. When I test the wheel in the profiler, it responds perfectly. I am running a gforce 6800 ultra vc and have my steering degrees at 270. My res is maxed out at 32 bit settings. All my game settings are maxed out to ultra video. It seems a little better with my video settings turned down. My pedals have no input lag at all and neither does my shifting. Is this just video processing lag? I get the same thing in GTR2 and race. I never noticed this with my sidewinder, but I probably never payed as much attention to it since I am working on fine tuning the G35, I am probably just noticing it more. I have a Dell 8400 with a 2.5 Gig processor and 1 gig ram. I am running norton, but shut it down when I race. Is it possible I have too much crap running in the background? Am I just panicking over nothing? Any input will be appreciated. |
You could start your Logitech Gaming Software and check that range and sensitivity of your wheel and pedals are set to max. I have it like this and adjust sensitivity then in the game(s). Also, I'm running my G25 with 550 degrees and in GTR2 use 20...23 degrees of steering angle.
I'll give that a look. But the wheel is a 900 degree range, are you speaking of another setting?
It sounds like you are not getting enough frames per second (FPS) To check it in rFactor press Ctrl+F and look at the top right of your screen. You want a minimum of about 35. I try to keep it at about 60. To raise you need to start turning your graphics down. Lowering your revolution will help alot also. Your video card is getting pretty dated. Its probably time to start looking at upgrading it.
I'll give that a look. But the wheel is a 900 degree range, are you speaking of another setting? Nope, same setting. 900 degrees is the max of the wheel but you can adjust it in Windows Start-Control panel-Game controllers-Properties-Settings.
How do you set the sensitivity of the pedals in the profiler? Do you have to create a profile in order to do that. I could not locate any pedal settings other than combined or separate in the Logitech or windows setings screens. Could not find any sensitivity settings for the pedals anywhere, but i don't know how to set up a new profile yet, so that's probably what I have to do, right?
To check what your settings are start your Logitech Profiler:
You can set several profiles for each game but I have done just one and use it with every game. Lower left corner (here unfortunately in Finnish) you should see wheel, throttle and brake. Click each and choose axis settings or something and check your range, deadzone and sensitivity. Once I set these I haven't had Profiler active. I frankly don't know if this has anything to do with your problem but one thing to check.
When I do this...I get no response from the assignments or axis properties dropdowns.
Have a look in the pulldown menus above the wheel in above photo. There is a menu where you should be able to see your wheel. Also, set up a profile for GTR2 and try then.
got it...thanks | ||
On same top pulldown menus there are some other settings which you might want to look at later point as well. |
