I hate RaceSimCentral!!!!

Why do they have to be the main sim forum? Apart from giving me the "server undergoing maintenance" message more than any other site I regularly visit, the search feature sends me over the edge.

You search for something and there are no matches, fine, so you try a different term and it goes:

"you must wait 180 seconds between searches"

What? server overload? Frightened that somebody might do too many searches or index the site?

Give people 20 searches a day or something, idiots.

So I wait 180 seconds and then after the next search attempt I get told I can't search for a three letter term. Too small. Wait another 180 seconds.

Why?

I'm so sick of stupid people.

I sent them an email once before it pissed me off, asking 'why?' and my account disappeared.

I'd even prefer those ridiculous "enter the letters in the image" verification things that take 3 attempts to get right than waiting 3 minutes.

Where's my sticker set - ah here:

I don't think you are the only one with a love-hate relationship with RaceSimCentral, and it seems to me it will continue to be that way. I have been browsing their forums for a decade, and while their service to the community has been immesurable, the last 3 years or thereabouts I have been getting increasingly annoyed with them. It is not that they enforce their rules, it is their "club" after all and they should run things the way they want. It's *the way* they do it and just the general tone of the administrators and moderators. I still visit them from time to time, but it seems everytime I go there I get annoyed in one way or the other. I simply think they probably got too big for their own shoes and now they are trying to run a quasi-professional organization with limited resources and serving a very unique community. I often think that if they had any money they should get some people to help them with image building and community relations because it seems even when they discuss cheescake they antagonize the very community that is their backbone. On top of it, yes, recently their technical glitches have been pure hell. It's one of those things in life I guess you can't live without and can't live with...

It seems I'm lucky, because I tryed to register @ RSC a month ago and I'm still waiting for that "account activation e-mail".

WHO IS RSC?

That about sums it up for me. Funny..I love cheesecake and I never heard of them.
