Blurry Texture Fixes for my tracks
12:23 AM on Apr 20, 2008

Recently my ATI x1950 pro died and I had to get it replaced. I bought an Nvidia 9600GT. When I loaded up rfactor I found loads of aliasing to my horror. It appears that the only way to stop this is to use a feature called negative bias clamp. This basically makes textures use their mipmaps (lower resolution much quicker). Unfortunately this appears to have had a bad effect on most of my tracks. Making the trees and many objects look rather poor. I found out that I needed to sharpen these textures in the lower mipmaps to help prevent this problem.

Those who dont use AA may find these textures look worse. If that is the case I seriously recommend you find a way to run at least x2 AA, as this will make your game look so much better.

These updates generally include tree, grass and advertisement updates for the various tracks.

Included in this pack are texture updates for the following tracks. All of these are available from my website: www.tltracks.com and also from www.rFactorcentral.com

Tracks Included:
Vanport (Portland International Raceway)
Putnam Park
Sebring 12h
Sugo 2006 (v3)
Donington
Wanneroo

Thanks Alex.
