Just introducing myself

Hi,

I'm a new member to this legue and would just like to introduce myself. My name is John van der Geest and I live in the Netherlands. I only recently started racing online. I'm a big fan of sim racing and got tired of racing the AI since they always behave a bit unnaturel and racing humans seems like the next locial progresion towards realism.

The sims I drive are: GPL, GTR2, GTL and Richard Burns Rally. I'm a bit apprehensive about buying Race07 since the first Race edition was full of bugs, but thats another topic.

Thank you all for your warm welkom. I feel really excited about participating in a race with real people. As for Race07: well, mabye the divorce isn't finall yet.

Wecome John!

I just bought Race 07 myself through Steam. I have my first race a week from today. Here's a link to the event: USA e30: Imola.

You might want to check the prerace posts before the race and postrace posts after the race on that page (click the Prerace and Postrace buttons). My practice sessions have been flawless...it's basically just an updated GTR2...the Imola track is obviously the exact same track. I am getting some graphics anomolies with near features such as grass and curbs being rendered without their textures (they flash to black) which is annoying...I haven't tried any tweaks, but there was a recent update release to fix an nVidia 8800 bug that was causing crashes and since I have an 8800 I suspect that they still don't have it right yet for that card. Ask someone that doesn't have an 8800 and perhaps they don't have that problem.

Welcome to rac2play! Hope you you have fun here.

In regards to RACE07, it has its bugs, mostly on the multiplayer portion, but other than that, it is a solid game. Much better than RACE06, IMO.

If you still run RBR a lot, we have a few stages starting up in early May.
