I say goodbye to an old friend. As my sim racing's online home, RACER, undergoes some changes, I look towards R2P to attempt to fill the voids that will certainly emerge from their evolution. At this point, all of this is so new, I don't know what to do or where to look. I am afraid of change in general, we'll see where this goes. I hope to find what I seek here, but then again, I don't know what I am looking for.

I want to race. I want to learn to race better. I want to win.

Wish me luck.

Welcome Gonzo! R2P is the place to Be! There is certainly a series for every wish, an independent chapter for every taste, and boredom is obsolete.
Ask around if you need any help.

Thanks everyone.

Hmmm. What to drive. Well, I like the Meganes, fBMW Presented by iDT, the BMW E21s, F3 (not as much though), SR A-Type, Octavia Cup, etc. Not big on F1, NASCAR or other of the top-tier formulas at this point. Also, at this time I really only run rFactor. I haven't bought RACE07 or ARCA Sim Racing. Should I?

I joined the Shark bunch (sorry, the proper name escapes me) last night because they are the only group I could find that was even close. I'm sure there are more, I just need to look, I guess. Heck, maybe I'll start my own. Never say never.

My expectation for Race2Play was not what I thought. I thought one could just jump into a race server just about anytime they wanted. That seems to not be the case. I assume that to do that you'll have to take your chance on the public servers. Not something I'm willing to go at again.

It looks like testing for the Megane race at Long Beach is on the 'To Do' list after the holiday. I hope I don't suck.

race07 has its problems, but if you want to get into touring cars (and sportscars in the future) then thats the sim to get, same with ASR.

I guess Gonzo that there just aren't enough people at R2P to have a server constantly up cycling through races at different tracks. Pity - it would be great to have a place to jump on knowing there's a code of conduct in place.

The Spec E30 class is very competitive Gonzo. Pick up Race07 and join us.

I love the idea of a pickup server Jonty, but I'm afraid my wife would divorce me if I could jump in and race at any time.
