Here Are some photos I took at the Indy 500. Ballons released at the right before the race.
Formation Lap:
The Cars are not too loud on the formation lap, but as soon as the safety car turns out the lights, look out. You can really feel the power!! We were sitting across from Scott Dixon's pit so we had a view of that and turn 1. Turn 1
Scott Dixon in the pits
I was really amazed at how dangerous the pits look. If you remember the first pit stop, Wheldon got out of the Pit in front of Dixon. To see him peal out and avoid Dixon's pit crew is really crazy in real life. I watched it on TV later, and it looked like nothing. More Pit Action
Here is Rahal's car heading to the junkyard:
Had a good view of the end of Danica's race. Here is the sequence of events.
Ok, well, whatever... And the finish line.
As A bonus, here is the 1988 winner from the Museum

Oh man, memories! Good pics, thanks for that!

Yeah nice pics, although, isn't htat yard of bricks actually where the line extends out into the concession area? Love the Rick Mears car, now THOSE were the days! Notice the chassic manufacturer, that kinda thing no matter comes into play.
I can't Get anything past you guys. That is the finish line as it extends into the concession area. But, that was a 1 in a million shot. It was about an hour before the race and there was, maybe a 1000 people within a foot of that line. I took that picture and kept walking. When i got home I was very suprised to see noone in the shot! The Car behind Rick Mears' car is the 1967 winner. That was also an awesome machine.
Fantastic shots there.

Nice pics.

Great shots Clay. Thx for sharing.
That was a great pass Mike, One reason I've never really gotten into IRL is because drivers can't just drive harder and expect to improve position.

Great Pics!! | ||
Thanks, guys. It is nice to have people to share them with. The only disapointment was that there wasn't any green flag pitstops. |
