Nice find Bryce. You'll like Track IR. I never became accustomed using it for racing, but I never really felt it would give me an 'advantage', as I tend to look forward 95% of the time.

Works great (and definitely gives you an edge) for other types of sims: flight and certain combat shooters.

Fired up the Trackir Ultra last night. A little light on the directions, but not to bad. I tried using the vector connected to my headset, but it was to sketchy. I had to continuosly reset. I finally tried the baseball cap with the clip. That seems to be the way to go.
Rfactor, no problems. Looking left and right, I tend to drive off the track. Will take a while to get used to it.
Gtr2, way to twitchy. Will have to tweak the settings. looking left and right get's me disoriented. I have to slow the motion down.
I'm not a big flying fan, but I will have to try it out.

I have an extra Rfactor disc and code if anyone is interested...

Yeah Bryce I agree with all you said. I can drive Rfactor fine with it, but GTR2 gets me very disoriented, and by mid-race I HAVE to turn it off or I can't continue. Tried tweaking acceleration settings for it, but still can't find anything useful. Let me know if you find good settings.

I have used the TrackIR. What I don't like about it is that it has to be re-centered too often in rFactor and there is no re-center mapping so I have to find the F12 button in the dark because the room has to be dark in order for the Track IR to work. I have to hold my head still during the race and my neck gets too stiff. If I roll my head to relieve the stiff neck, I get disoriented and crash.

Same thing Kurt. I have problems holding my head still the whole race. You can map your re-center button to your wheel now in the new software.

And also some steering wheel software allows you to map buttons to key presses.

Are you guys using the vector or the hat clip? I originally found the hat clip to work better. I ran last night using the vector clipped to my headset and it worked surprisingly well. Make sure you have vector or clip selected in trackir before you run the game.

I use the hat clip Bryce. Have to give the other option a shot.
