Race Ranks

Note: Currently broken due to some changes at R2P. The fix didn't look easy, but will continue supporting it when I return to sim-racing. Apologies.

What is it?
Simply a graphical representation of all drivers' ranks for an event, designed for display in pre-race. Predict field strength and who your main competition might be.

Example

Details
  • Rank used is the rolling rank for the corresponding race type.
  • If driver is unranked in this race type, half his overall rank is used.
  • If driver doesn't have an overall rank, he'll be sidelined as unranked.
  • Different classes shown in different colors if applicable.
  • Although field is updated live, ranks may be up to one day old.

How to display it for your race
Simply copy and paste the following code into your pre-race post:

<a href="/homepage/show_blog_posts/1724"><img src="http://www.peroogle.com/R2PRank/show_ranks.php?event=2132"/></a>

and change '2132' to your event number (as shown in your browser's address bar for the event). If pre-race post complains, just space down a line first before pasting the code.

Planned Improvements
  • Different car images for the other racing types.
  • First name initial (or entire first name) added to ambiguous surnames.

Sure looks like the classic "bell curve" only mirrored.

Would like to see the entire R2P membership plotted this way. I would suspect it would be weighted more on the -5 rank side of the curve.

Doesn't seem to be working Jonty. I post the code and change to event number, and it just sits there doing nothing. Has anything been changed?

Nice one Jonty, hope to incorporate this into future Shark seasons.
