YeeHaw!! The summer rains have arrived!
12:52 AM on Jun 27, 2008

It's monsoon season and the rain has arrived in southern AZ. It's even a week or two early. The forecasters sure blew it today - it's monsoon storming real good right now, and they predicted a sunny 102 degree day today. It's 84, raining hard, windy, thunder & lighning, fantastic! Been months without any rain here, that's why we have a monsoon festival (last weekend). It's as dark out there as it is at 8pm (in other words, headlights are required if driving right now). Had to open all the windows in my apartment, turn off the A/C, getting some fresh air flowing through. The walk to the laundry room was a bit wet a few minutes ago, and probably will be when I go to move the laundry to the dryers. Jeez, can't even see out the window now it's so dark and rainy.
Just stepped out the chat with the neighbor, we were just about shouting and standing only 10 feet apart, the noise of the rain and thunder is just fantastic.
Seems rather strange that we get so excited when it rains, but it's so rare here...

45? Must be celsius. Today here it's supposed to hit 102 with thunderstorms this afternoon. 102 ain't so bad, it's when it gets over 105 that it's really getting hot.
