I love that my car is faster...

I see some others have gotten the bug for vintage iron...I just got me a nice piece of iron earlier this summer, a(nother) '61 Falcon. The red one in the pic below is the new one, and starting this weekend (I think) I'll be moving over the 5 lug spindles/axles and brake system from the white one to the red one. White one will get sold.

Red one sports a 302 w/roller cam out of an '84 'Stang, 5 speed, and 4bbl Edelbrock manifold and carb. It really ROCKS going down the road, and that poor old lump that Todd bought would have to suck up some Ford dust...

Cheers!

nice ride, jan. is that how you spent all those pits' donations? hehe

p.s. for those that dont know, the above is intended as a friendly crack to my friend jan kohl who basically run the pits, which has been a godsend to simracers, out of his own pocket.

Just messin' wid ya, Todd...I like those older Firebirds. Not as much as a Ford, of course! :P There's a guy who lives near me that has one, I've been trying to get him to sell it! :)

Jeff, it sure is a sleeper. The white one looks more radical than the red one, the red one looks more like you'd see an old man driving down the road. The only clue is the rumble when it goes by and the dual exhaust sticking out the back. Fun watching the ricer boys try and keep up at a stoplight (and freak out when it still spins the tires going into 2nd gear...and 3rd)! :) However, when I get done with it it will be all white with dual Ford racing stripes, I plan to start running it in the Vintage Iron class, hopefully the year after next.

Joseph...nice idea, but unfortunately Pits donations probably wouldn't pay for me a helmet! :)

Cheers!

I've always wondered why there weren't more older Falcon, Maverick and Fairlane 'hot rods'. This year at the Turkey Run car show here in Daytona it looked like that is changing. I was happily impressed with the number of them that I saw. I expect to see yours here next year, Jan.

Another note about the show....maybe someone can shed some light on this....there was a new Mustang that had a 427 CAMMER in it! There was a dealer type window sticker (perhaps a comuter generated counterfeit?)that listed it as a $60,000.00 option.

I trust you will be telling the purchaser of the white one that you have removed the braking system :)
