LOL, the fist attempt I failed miserably. That was September of last year... Around the same time I started to get into sim racing.

I'm so chuffed!

How exactly are the tests run over there?
Here in the US, we have a written and instructed (driving) exam. 50 questions, including 16 signs that you have to identify. Driving test is something like 30 minutes long (but mine only took 6!).

Grats Jon.

Here in the states, they give a license to anyone that applies, even if you're not from this country. Sad really, considering all the clueless wonders out on the road today.

My oldest brother was stationed in Germany in the early 70's (Army) outside of Frankfurt, and talked about how difficult the test was to pass. Something like 300+ questions. Insane.
But it was for a very good reason. They just don't mess around over in Europe when it comes to safety of others. If your test was anything close to what he describes (my brother), then grats are certainly in order.

Tests in UK are in two parts: Theory and Practical.

Theory consists of answering multiple choice questions on the usual things: signs, speed limits, stopping distances etc. This is then followed by a mouse clicking game called "hazard perception". Aka: the reaction test. Practical exam is a 40 minute living knightmare. Involving mostly driving around over-crowded city streets before disappearing into the surrounding villages to do your manouvres etc.

I managed to get through with only 5 minor errors, all of which involved approaching junctions/roundabouts a tad too quick. Otherwise I was inch perfect.

Went out for my first drive on my own this evening... loved it!
