Hey fellas, As you all know, the rFactor touring cars have a stupid tire overheating problem, simply due to one simple value in the tire file. Anyhow, i am having huge issues with rear tire temperatures, after 2 laps they have already sky rocketed to 120c, and tire pressure adjustments do jack all to help. However, i am pretty sure that something to do with camber or toe can dramatically affect tire heat, but i have forgotten lol. So do any of you know what i can do to help? To be honest, its not limiting my speed at all, its just after 30 laps keeping the car facing forwards with 200c tires is near impossible lol. Cheers, Richard. |
Tire heat has only one major factor... the driver. That is the only thing that can have any major effect on tire temps. No setup change will help with a 20c+ temp decrease.
Edit: Your Completely right Tim. Even though i tried to change my style before, i was never looking in the right direction. Now i have learned the correct driving style, i am having much less of a problem than before. Although, they do still get hotter than they should.
Use harder tyres? | ||
The touring cars don't have harder tyres unfortunately :(
Looking at it logicaly: excessive rear tyre wear is likely to be because you're laying on the throttle too hard (in a rear wheel drive car of course), so the real question is "why am I having to put the throttle on so hard and indeed, do I even need to?".
Yeah i see where you are coming from Jon. But its not so much wear, its heat. Looking at it, i am having the same problem as every one else with the default rfactor cars. Excessive overheating of the tyres. But i think i have countered it now, just had to learn a new, very conservative driving style. Thanks for the help everyone. |
