Hi Guys, Not sure if anyone would have noticed, but I have been away for a few months. I took a bit of a sebatical and returned to a previous career of mine, that being a Safari Guide.
I used to work at a Safari Lodge on a reserve called Welgevonden in the northern provence of South Africa. That was a few years back, I let that wonderful life in the bush to return to the UK (money talks!) Anyway I recently got an opertunity to go back and take a bit of a working holiday at Duma Manzi Safari Game Reserve in South Africa, this time in the Natal province in the south. Whilst this reserve did not have elephants, or lions, it more than made up for it with some excellent encounters with rhino, giraffe, nyala and many other species of antelope. Anyway the "holiday" was over way too quickly and here I am again about to "enjoy" another wonderful winter in the UK! hoo hum, guess I should dust off my steering wheel and get back into sim racing - any comments on whether I should get the new GT Revolution game would be appreciated! oogh for a few photos of the trip try my Flickr Page |
Jason, great pics. Brought back great memories of a safari I experienced in Dec. 1997: Kenya. To see the animals roaming unrestricted in their natural habitat will have you protesting your local zoo. To see a pack of lions take down a zebra, then devour it, was one of those moments that puts everything into perspective and makes all the stresses of life meaningless. (I would post our pics but way back in 1997, we didn't have 'digital' cameras.)
Oh I envy you for being able to do that Jason. Looks and sounds amazing. Welcome back, and yes GTR-Evo is worth the few dollars they ask for it.
Charles: Sounds like you need/should go again sometime :-) Tim, many thanks I will get it in the next few days or so See you guys on the track! |
