Second race it's dropped connection to in as many days. I don't know if it's just that I can't get a decent connection to the server at what is peak time for this country or something, but... It's insane. Anyway, apologies for not taking part in two races now that I was registered for. I tried, I really did. Up until it said, 'you may only join sessions in practice or qualifying'. If I'm up (which is a possibility) I might switch to the US legs of the series, which seemed to work alright last night for the sports class. I'd prefer it not to have to be a permanent switch, as some of them are late enough it would really hurt. I know I'm willing to get up in the middle of the night to watch a race, but... Well they only happen on Sundays for one. |
Well, as far as I know, today's GT-P race (Evo) had one of several bugs.....vapor cars on the track, and I was one of them. Looking at the ping in the lobby, it was showing 38, so I assume this was run on the US server, so I don't think your conn to the server is the issue. It's the same crap code they've used since the original Race. Most of the time it works ok, but other times, it's total crap. I got screwed out of a 4th place Q, it put me last instead, and when the race started, it was not giving me times in front of or behind, but it was giving me lap times, but not position at the line. Tried running 4 laps to see if it would change, but no luck. Plus the fact I couldn't race with anyone because they couldn't see me. | ||

I did 3 races in the last two days. For me, without problems. But there were too many others that had some kind of issue. And I do think they are all game related. The problems already start in the lobby. Sometimes I have to wait more than a minute before the R2P-server even appears. And then too many are invisible or have a disconnect during the race. Just look at the number of DNF's in the GT-races and you'll see something is really wrong with that game. This is going to affect the results in S10 a lot if nothing is done about it. But I'll bet there will be some kind of problemreport from R2P to Simbin. | ||
Eeek. Not just me. Hmm. I signed up for the US one later (and have cancelled due to health... ugh). The Sports one last night worked fine for me on the US series, but the Euro one I tried in the evening punted me out before the race, and in quali had a couple of people showing with times like -2675837366548328. So something's certainly not right.
And yea, I was beginning to wonder about the wait for r2p servers to list, but then I was signed up to drive in a funrun event in rFactor last night, and after not seeing an r2p server in the list, couldn't even get a list from there... | ||
I lose connection all the damn time in rfactor and arca sim racing but so far haven`t had that problem with evo. I know it sucks though. It sucks to the point of not being so excited about racing anymore. Look at how many dnfs i have. A good majority of them are because I just flat out suck. I know that. Thare are a shitload of lost connections in there too though. And i`m talking about races that for some stupid reason actually meant something at the time. The lost connections in big (to me ) races have meant that I no longer put any importance or effort really in any race anymore. I love driving and i will show up and halfheartedly make an effort not to be dead last with my lackluster driving skill and default setup which is pretty nuch inadequate to say the least but it`s the lost connections that really prevent me from trying too hard or caring too much. It`s the vodka and inablity to go to sleep that allows me to get on here and make a fucking fool out of myself right now. Peace. | ||
Ive done several races now, the sims good but the problems with guys being invisible, guys not being scored correctly and connections dropping has to be sorted. If this were a mod, R2P would not even think of using it, so why are we? | ||
Funny, we didnt have these problems during the month of fun-run events. Not until Evo made it onto the schedule did we start seeing the Invisible-car issues (though that is the reason we stopped racing RACE07 a while back too). Im willing to keep trying though, and hopefully Simbin improves the situation. I have been trying everything I can on my end to help the situation but so far no golden egg. Dont give up just yet guys. I'd like to keep working at it for now. | ||

Are we actually aware if Simbin are doing anything about it? I have swerved recent events due to the issues talked about, but hope it would get resolved. |
