200 Races!
02:34 PM on Jan 28, 2010

Wow.

I can't believe i've reached the 200th milestone! Thanks to the Event Steward who pointed this out to me, pre-quali, for the BMW E90 event at Silverstone this evening. Without this I would of never realised and I honestly think it gave me such a desire to make it a great one, and boy it was one to remember!

I really want to thank everyone, as usual, who has helped R2P become the hot spot for Sim Racing. Without you all, non of this would be possible and I thank you all dearly. I just want to thank a few 'special' people that i've befriended over the past 2 years (well nearly).

Vision Racing

I would like to thank this, small, yet professional team for getting me involved into the community from the very start.

Ryan Robbins
Aaron Jackson
Spyros Derekis
Eduardo Fernandez

After finding my feet with Vision Racing, I decided it was time to jump ship as there results got better and better. I got talking to Liam Hatchell about his team and his idea's of what he wanted to achieve, so I decided to support his aspirations. Have made a fantastic friend right there! I have never met a more dedicated Sim Racer. Very professional, but also fun to chat and race against. A serious thankyou needs to be said to Liam on my behalf. Being in such a dedicated environment certainly helped me raise my game and become a much more complete Sim Racer.

During my time with H-P (Saucy Boys ;-]) I also took part in a a select few rounds with Pro Sim Racing. These guys are nuts, but good fun to race against! Pablo Martinez, I honestly think he is one of the best racers ever to grace R2P. Clean, Honest, Hard and Fun to race against. He was the one person always strided to beat here. I just loved the way he drove and still do.

After HP started to achieve the desired goals and aims, I again thought it was time to spread my wings and get involved with another rising star here. I somehow managed to start talking to a now, dear friend of mine, Phil (Unlucky) Perkins. After I read his personal blog about a sudden health problem, I couldn't help but admire this man. Endless nights we would stay up practicing and talking to each other. Really have got to know Phil very well, hopefully there will be many more years to come of his friendship. I just want to take this chance to wish him all the best of luck for the rest of his life. He has had such a hard time over this past years. I really don't know how, but he has kept his head up, and inspired me hugely. Thankyou Phil.

OK, so suddenly I found myself surrounded by the most amazing group of guys I've probably ever spoke to all, racing under the one team. MDB Racing. Daniel (Don't blame the Dutch guy) Bolman. This man is a legend! After running only a couple races with them, I became great friends with all the drivers. Really amazing people, and a great laugh to be apart of.

MDB Racing

Phil Perkins
Daniel Bolman
Ryan McConkey
Steve Taylor
Philip Cullen
Marcel Grevelt
Kenny Press

After becoming involved with MDB, I took part in a few races outside of R2P, never again I tell you! Never! However, I did manage to pick up one tag along whilst there with Phil Perkins. He goes by the name of 'Phillie Cullen'. In all the hours we have talked whilst racing on TS, I have concluded that this man is after my own heart! Drives like me, same personality and a whole lot more! First Irishman I've had the pleasure of talking too! The man is a comedy genius and one pretty amazing racer. If I was you, i'd keep my eye on him. He'll be up amongst the aliens very soon. The improvements this guy has made in the 4-5 months i've known him, are epic! Watch this space!

Finally I have to mention all the guys of at Pinnacle/Evolution Motorsports. Nick Phillips has been such a huge help to me over the past few months. He is the Chapter Guru and is always happy to help me whenever I need him. Thankyou Nick and all you guys at Pinnacle.

Now to mention a few great guys who have helped me on my Sim Racing journey.

Barney Fox
Matthew Cox
Pete Bunce
Michael Virt
Mark Wicks
Michael Herring
Matt Willoughby
Kieron Peace
Tristan Bayless
Thomas Marcinek
Paulo Tempera
Paul Valentine
Eraldo Silva

Salvador Vendrell (Setup?) Jejejeje :-D
James Goldsborough

Finally Tim and Todd and all the Event Stewards. It must give you great satisfaction in knowing that you give 10,000's of Sim Racers, the perfect place to practise a much loved hobby. You guys really are inspiring for giving up your precious time, to make this all come true.

I thankyou all!

Lucky for you, you didn't have to send out thank you notes through the post... that would have cost a fortune.

But I'm happy to have you as one of my drivers and friends mate, it's always great fun and learning more and more from you each time we race together.

See you on track soon mate.

Congrats, a lot better than my lame little blog about it :)

No need to thank me, it was your move and you helped me more than you helped yourself. Thank you.

Been awesome working with you mate over the past quarter of a year or so - and long may it continue! I still have fond memories of the first race on TS - VW's at Norisring - starting what is always an interesting time. Even the most mundane of races becomes interesting!

Goes to the point if I'm not in a race with you or Phil, Danny or Ryan - it just feels wrong!

Congratulations James and thanks for the mention.

There are a lot of drivers on the list who are a credit to themselves, their teams and Race2Play as a whole.

But come on 200, you're not trying hard enough :-]

Many congrats James.

It's always great to race with you mate. You're a hard racer but always fair and I know I can go nose to tail with you. And I always know I'm in for a tough race when ever I see you on the sign up list :).

Cheers James, and here's to the next 200.
