Heh......looks like a race on a public server in the dry!
The guy in the viper forgot to turn his wipers off.

As a real life race official, I'm so effing mad watching that, I could piss vinegar right now. I'm serious, I need to get up and walk this off.
This is inexcusable. The incompetance of the race director and race control to allow it to get to that point, much less let it continue as long as it did, is beyond comprehension. I hate lawyers as much as the next guy, but they need to be sued out of existance. The arrogance and stupidity out there never ceases to amaze me.
If I was a corner marshal I would have walked off my turn than be subjected to those dangerous conditions.
I know you posted this up in good fun, but I'm getting a headache I'm so steamed. Stupidity is not a solely american trait I see. The potential injury & loss of life, much less the millions of $$$ in unnecessary damage, boggles the mind.

Sorry, going to go take a breather and sit in a hot tub with my beautiful wife.
=!*grumble grumble^!*.

I seem to remember from somewhere else when this was posted, that it just started pouring down really really hard, and that the cars were on slicks, and were about to head in to change. But it sure looks like mayhem!

If you look at the wheel that broke off the saleen, it is no doubt a slick, not a rain tire.

I'm wondering why the marshals were on the track side of the barrier to begin with.

That's a British GT event, season should be 2002, and track is Oulton Park.

yeah very serious stuff goin on there no need for comments about americans it has nothing to do with it ... BUT im sure you didnt mean it the way you said it and hopefully none takes it that way least i didnt.

motorsports will always have things that our outta control thats the nature of the beast and we really have no clue as to how long this went on i just hope none was hurt badly or died. the video is spliced this could have all happend in a matter of minutes.

That is bad.

Notice that the #8 car is stopped on the track and has cones around it, so the marshall's must have jumped out and put them out. But, as the next car approaches and looks like it's going to run into him the #8 car appeas to move a bit as if it may at least be able to roll, but that's of no consequence since the #38 car follows up by hitting the barrier, so there was really no place for them to go.

I'm sure it was a horrible time for everyone and could not have been prevented...it does look like the cars slowed down significantly when their visibility became almost nil, or there would have been much more damage than there was. It looks like even if race offials brought out red flags right away none of the drivers would have seen them until it was too late. I only saw one car which didn't wreck...miracles happen.
