Tommy is a pretty cool dude... and scary fast.

When I was at the Mid-Ohio school, the instructors would take you out in their cars at about 85% to show you the proper line, etc. I was riding with Paul Dallenbach at the time. There had been no one leaving near us as we left the pits. As we turned onto "Thunder Valley" Paul said "It looks like Tommy wants to play". I bent down to look out the passenger side mirror and saw nothing but the lens of an Acura TSX headlight. The rest of the lap was at a bit faster pace. :-)

When we got to the pits, the guy who had been riding with Tommy was beside himself. He said "We just ate your guys up!"

His autobiography is pretty good:
