Here's a little bit about the yellow bimmer that I call home. She's a stock '01 BMW Z3 M Coupe' that's Dakar Yellow. I had a silver 2000 one but "upgraded" to the '01 becuase of the improvement in power in the 2001-2002 years. Unlike Tim, i've never tracked the car...only did a Solo II event in Houston a couple years back. It was fun and I think tracking a car would be a blast, but this is really my baby and, you can ask my wife, i think I spend more time with it than my family. Here's some photo's...don't mean to show off, but hell, this is a self-indulgent blogosphere :) http://picasaweb.google.com/tracy.nolte/2001BMWMCoupe I bought the car in Raliegh, NC the weekend of a Grand Am race in VIR. Spent the weekend at the race before driving back and naturally got some pictures of what I wanted my car to grow up to be :) mog |

It is with much regret that I had to let the baby go. I can't believe it, but it's gone...sold to another good home. I can't believe it happened but I suppose there will be another one soon...just need to wait a year or so until I begin looking again. Just had to downsize and had an offer from a nice couple in San Francisco...they flew out, test drove it...and then drove it home...i think i need therapy :) Until then, my son and I just flew to Pittsburg and bought a 2002 VW GTI VR6 and drove it back home to San Antonio. great little car...zippy and eye catching and the ride is really nice for a hatch, but it's front wheel drive and sits higher and...well, could go on forever about the differences. mog |
