Finally, a race at R2P! Had trouble with team speak at my first registered event - the "fun" Elise race at Barca National. Real first race in Spec Rhez at Lienz Altstadt. Slow and not even steady. Hopefully, gave everybody a wide berth. Seem to never get the last corner onto the main straight quite right. I plan to do better next week! |
Hi Bill, I remember seeing a 'Bill K' on TeamSpeak, but never heard a peep from you! Still having TS problems? Nice to see (and hear) people on TS, I'm surprised more people don't take advantage of that resource. Not only does it make the experience more social, it comes in very handy when lapping/being lapped, warning about spins and crashes, etc.
And about that last corner, I think I got it right twice out of maybe a hundred laps.
Nice to have you racing here. The more drivers, the better... About TeamSpeak, Is there a way for it not to be voice activated when u talk, so, if i want to talk, i could press a button. I found that on Vetrilo, but not on TS.
On TS, If you are using a control it doesn't recognize, you can download the Joy-To-Key program listed on this site and then your push to talk will work. My ECCI needs the joy-to-key. No matter what you need to designate a key, the problem with voice activated is anything can activate it, game, kids, washer and dryer.
I just downloaded "JbindX" and it works great. I didnt know there was any of that kind of programs on site. Great, now i will probably be using this TS, since voice activated is realy crap... ppl in chen. would just hear me go mental a few times per race ;D. This time i have to "push da button"! :P Hope we get some more into TS! That programm got me in maybe it will do same for others, who knows ;)
Tommy, I think I heard you and (Ian?) talking after the race. Yes, Dimitry was alien-like in his speed in the corners. Do I need a mike for voice communication? Janko, I changed the activation to the "T" key in the settings menu within TS itself.
Yea u need a mic. And its just better to have it something on the wheel binded for voice communication.
Janko, you are right! A pad on the keyboard is awkward. I need to download this utility to map a button on the steering wheel to the talk function. Thank you Janko and Jeff S.
Bill, in case you or Janko are using a Logitch wheel (they are after all the most popular) you don't have to download any 3rd party utilities to map buttons to keyboard characters.
the problem with voice activated is anything can activate it, game, kids, washer and dryer.

Welcome Bill. Just to add to what Janko said, TS is a hoot. If it isnt the info you can get during a practice or a race, it is the laughs. It is almost like a comedy show most of the time. Besides, you get to at least match a voice with a name.
Thanks, TC. I do have a red Momo - - haven't used the profiler software for a while. I'll try the remapping with that before my next races. Joesph, from what little I heard, there does seem to be entertainment value there.... |
