Have you tried a re-install?

Scandisk and defrag after un-installing GTR2. Then re-install. All it takes is one bad sector on a hard-drive and gobs of files can be corrupt. The scandisk and defrag will make sure not to re-write the same data right on top of bad sectors.

Are you overclocking anything (RAM, CPU, Video). Back it off to see if that helps.

Is your RAM modules exact duplicates? If you have two different RAM chips, this sometimes causes issues. I had major issues with GTR1 and odd-ball RAM... took mo months to figure it out.

Pop open your PC and make sure everything is seated well. Pull the RAM and put it back in so you know all the connects are good. Same with video and sound cars. (dont bother with CPU, it's not worth the risk). Same with all power cables and other cables. It doesnt take much for a little corrosion on power calbes or even a slight vibration to un-seat a card and your PC doesnt work very well after.

I will add one thing to all of Tim's good suggestions, and that is to make sure the inside of your case isn't clogged with dust. Pay particular attention to your graphics card and its fan, as well as the power supply and the intake & output grilles and fan(s).

Many crashing PCs have been cured simply by clearing/improving the air flow.

What mod/car are you using when this happens? See the last line in your trace? Its trying to find the HDC (physics) file for one of your cars, and its missing. And its bombing because it can't find it. Looks like you hosed something. Backup your player file/folder and your setups. Reinstall GTR2
