So - I was away for awhile around here. Then I came back...everything looked the same, but it seems different.
I see all the same people signed in at the bottom, and all these other people browsing - but there's little interaction with each other.
Is there a standoff I don't know about? Are people just not into talking to each other anymore? Is it the 'Summer Don't Cares' setting in? Are people just racing for stats and not caring about community?
I just wish there was more interaction between people. I see people lurking, but nothing is really happening. Best part of my entire 10 year sim-racing career was here at Race2Play in 2009-2011 when everyone was rockin' it and we had strong ties.
Now it's all over the dame place lol
Is there a happenin' place I haven't been told to join yet? Are people off in other leagues? Are people just auto-piloting? Go about their business and not have the same enthusiasm as they once did? Are people sick of rFactor? Are people waiting for a series that suits them? Are they waiting for some other change?
Maybe people are talking, and it's just not the familiar faces I'm used to.
To quote Pink Floyd: Is There Anybody Out There?

"C'mon dude. AWOL just means you gotta lose a months pay. Small price to pay..."
LOL...not when I am trying to get promoted :)

"Man what Torrent site was that so I can stay away?
The ones I frequent, people freak out if you do that kinda thing."
It was at the old RacingUnderground site (now Racingforme or something like that). Shit was thrown at the fan so the screenshot was removed. Pretty much a fluke event, of course, but it doesn't help a whole lot.
I get more annoyed when I find out who wins a particular race after coming home and turning on the damn local news. Those that post spoilers on Facebook I just add to my ignore list. That's easy to do :). But again, it's not like I can erase my memory. I still know the outcome. That's why my ignore list is kinda long :P

Nope. I'm not going to add more monthly payments to my bill to pay for a DVR when there's not a whole lot to record and not much to watch. I thought about getting those lifetime DVRs that cost a few hundred dollars, but then I go back to my previous statement.
Besides, European coverage of F1/Sports Cars is better anyway. SpeedTV has been going downhill since they sold their soul to the devil (NASCAR).

I don't have a DVR either...

I don't own a DVR. Not giving anymore monthly payments to that farce of a company called Comcast.
I do almost everything through my computer apart from the stuff that I can't.

Can you not just record it? I'm in backwards land UK and we still have that ability!

Couldn't watch anything live this weekend or I would have been AWOL.
And it doesn't help that the media I tried to access to watch the race later (torrent) spoiled the damn race by showing the screenshot of the winner.

What's this shit. F1 Store sending me e-mails the following morning about who won the event and that I can get the official shirt.
Screw you man! :D

You boys need to perfect the art of avoiding the media until you've seen the race. There's always someone who hasn't seen the race!

@Conor- Oh well, watch it live like the rest of us. You're not a fan if you dont watch it live. Grind a pound for me biotch! :)
It's not my problem that you damn kids cant get your priorities straight. Racing comes before EVERYTHING.

Hell yeah! I cannot remember the last time I watched a Grand Prix without knowing who is going to win, or at least be on the podium.

You know what grinds my gears? People who post race spoilers on Farcebook and the like.
That is all...
