Well I am not sure what the deal is with the other drivers. I have suspended him from the chapter and I am not responsible with Race2Play if they don't ban him.

I did look at the video and he had zero control of the car. The story you are telling me seem to have blown into something bigger then what mail I was receiving last night. So I am not going to worry as I see now the small pebble has turned into a boulder.

I have shut down the door for free entry to CCBB to avoid any more yahoos. Requests only. I am also working on a new racing system here and it will only allow minimum of rank 1 to join that will be placed soon. I am working on other angles to help make better racing.

As for anyone who is in a rage about one race and screaming about it thinking I am not doing something about it, they don't know me then. Time is all positive about my approach not being a hot head posting outrageous remarks etc.

People can quit if they like, they will only see later that improvements are being made. I am not going to back away about what I reported. What I saw in the video wasn't more then some kid who only raced twice in his life a SIM race game and probably from the key board and I know that he had to be because if you watch the braking, the steering and the acceleration it was done by buttons and not a steering & pedals.

I also saw in the video a few member take a few shots at him. The kid spend 3/4 of his race in the pits. Anyways I am not defending what happened but I do see why it happened. Sure he is going to say fk this and fK that and I have no idea what the other actually said to him in private. I am waiting to talk with him and for sure won't be right now because others are messaging him and the fire is still burning.

Once things cool down people will see I will have made preventions for this kind of thing. Yes I should have done some thing but I never really saw the really bad shit happen. Every time I went by him he was in the pits. I only passed him maybe 3 or 4 times. No one never tried to whisper to me what was going on.

I will continue treating this in a polite and political manner, I am sure he will never return and race here at R2P. If members want to put CCBB Motorsport down, I can only say sorry to hear that and races will continue as usual .

Of course, Doug. There is a huge difference between "getting people in trouble" and "helping people to get better". And I agree any standard approach should be towards the later, for many reasons including the one you mentioned.

Edit: and another thing that makes a *big* difference is just an "I'm sorry". Simply apologizing when one screws up (and everyone does) makes immense difference in the way a whole situation should be interpreted.

Yes I did see at the end he even drove the wrong way, clearly on purpose. It was at the end of his racing. There maybe there was a reason he did it. I'll stop there because this reply isn't about him.

Another related moment but indirectly happened the day after. Soon I will be moving and I have been at the new apartment painting and getting the apartment ready. When I came back home my oldest boy who is 14 years old had open my rFactor and was racing on Monza with the H6 cars. I was impressed that he was doing really well for playing a SIM. I am not sure what aids he was using if any but sure he was often track often.

I encouraged him on how well he drove and he asks, "will I get in trouble and banned if I try and race online because my driving wasn't good". I told him he did well and that was your first time. Don't worry what others think.

You see the impact this has shown him he questions himself worried about going online.

I didn't ask why he start playing a race game, the 4 years I had race games he never touched them until now.

Hey Doug,

As someone who was involved in the mess the other day, and who certainly got a hot head out of it, I feel I need to say at least a couple of words here even if I feel I'm repeating myself a bit. Just "for the record".

I don't think you have any fault in what happened and it's hard to think there is much more you could have done or that you could do now besides what you already done. There's not much more to it.

You're mentioning CCBB... it was my first time racing with you and I can't see how what happened should, or even could, have any bearing on what I think of CCBB or on my intentions to race with you again. As far as I'm concerned it was a coincidence, not more nor less. It could have happened anywhere, in any race. I totally second Alberto in what he said here.

I do disagree with your previous post, the "report", in which you state that driver was not hunting people down but just had no control of the car. I can say clearly and peacefully, I was hunt down more than once and I saw other people were too (I don't mean personally, he was just hunting "other cars" down to wreck them). But that is that, just a disagreement.

Now to the more sensitive stuff. I lost quite a bunch of my interest in the races here - that's a fact. It might or might not come back soon, I actually hope it does. But although it may seem I did so because of what happened Monday that's only half true. Yes, I do think what happened was absurd but I know it *can* (and probably from time to time does) happen anywhere. But it was just the last straw, which made even clearer for me the side I don't like of R2P. It's a very small side to be honest, but it exists, and unfortunately it does make a big impact on my racing experience here.

I won't say much more about that because I don't think it's the time nor the place nor the way of saying it. And because I really like it in here, too - if I didn't I wouldn't have spend so much time here in the past couple of months. What I don't like, I have already stated quite a few times over posts and reports, and have discussed different bits of it with different users and the officials (I remember exchanging some messages about this months ago with Steve Taylor, who was *very* patient with me lol), and I'd be happy to discuss them again: In private, which I think is the right way to do it. But see, I was already concerned with this months ago.

In that regard, I just see what is done different in many other leagues. I can only suggest that it would be nice here what they have there, and that's my way of trying to make it better in here. And it's hard to make those suggestions to be honest, simply because everyone is so much more experienced then I am, and I hate the feeling that I'm rediscovering the wheel all the time. But at the end of the day, regardless of what I think it is up for the responsible people to make their decisions the way they think it's best to run the site, and it's up to me to decide where can I have the best simracing experience. For a while I thought it'd be here, now I'm having my doubts. And I know, and have talked about this, many others with the same kind of feelings - and it's up for them to make their decisions, too. Simple as that.

I hope nothing I've said comes across the wrong way. I think they won't as they are just simple and sort of common sense statements. I just wanted to make clear, so there is no "Chinese whispers", that my chain of thought and/or my decisions don't come straight from your actions Doug, or from CCBB. As a matter of fact, people like you make up for a big part of the reasons to stay here. Thank you for that.

I'm quite sorry for the fuss, I hope we can just flip this page.

I have to admit that, while I was racing, I also thought he was just a noob that couldn't control the car, even when I crashed into him, but after seeing the replay my opinion is there is a point where he goes from noob to wrecker and starts hunting down cars. (he even drove the wrong way, clearly on purpose)

However, should you have stopped your race and kicked him from the event? Probably, but I don't know what I'd done in that situation. Put CCBB down? Hell, no. That's a complete over-reaction IMO. It's the first time I've seen something like that, and the one that has to be blamed is the driver.

With free guest memberships it's something that might eventually happen, as you don't know if the newest member have the right practice, skills and mindset for online racing, but as long as measures are taken to avoid that from happening again, I'm fine. You've taken measures, I hope R2P will do too.

And I also doubt we will see that driver again here.
