Viruses!!!!

Dammit, i'm pissed!!!
I was surfing the net last night, got in somewhere i shouldn't of been and got a virus. I was a bad one my antivirus couldn't heal. And now I am reinstalling windows as we speak. What a pain in the ass.

UPDATE: I have a new install of windows and i'm getting everything back to normal slowly. I hope to be ready for the race tomorrow.

Is winpatrol an antivirus? i got it and it looks like a nice little tool. i got the free version only though.

No, not antivirus. It monitors your startup.ini, and also your registry, and alerts you if anything tries to sneak onto your registry. The free version works fine, you don't need to buy the full version.

Believe it or not but the best antivirus software on the planet is now free. I was highly suspicious since it is offered by AOL, but I did the research and it is true. Kaspersky is the best antivirus out there and aol is licensing it.

IMPORTANT
1) Specify a temp. or junk email address that you can access for them to send the activation key too, the user agreement appears to indicate that it may share your email address. (If you want a gmail account, send me a PM and I will give you an invite)
2) When you install AVS, it asks you if you want a free security toolbar, say NO! That is how AOL is probably making a $ off of this.
