Watching Wind Tunnel makes me weep. And not because of Dave, Dave is hillarious. But listening to his callers kills my brain cells and makes me lose 5 IQ points per minute. If these are the people watching "racing" in America, I want to slit my wrists.

I sit on my couch with a six shooter and debate the inevitable while listening to dave-the-pain, he (nascar lover and the heck with any other form of racing) an idiot and his callers are complete morons and very un-educated auto racing fans. Thats why the only reason i will turn it on as if he would have Robin Miller or John Force as a guest host.

HOLY SHIT!! That is hilarious!!! LMAO!!!!

Despain is a great guy, he is no NASCAR lover, he is a motorcycle race fan, a true to the heart motorcycle race fan.

Anyway, I am still laughing my ass off!!! LOL!!!!

OMG! That's hilarious! I've never paid much attention to his show, I'm not a NASCAR fan and every time I've seen his show it's always been about NASCAR, so I switch to something else.

Yes Steve...A very avid 2 wheel fan. In fact when the show first started , he had a very large 2 wheel segment but because of the "popularity" of NASCAR, he seemed to be forced to go that direction, and less and less of the 2 wheel stuff.

I remember seeing that live, I thought it was great. Dave Dispain is no Nascar lover, but he has to get paid, and spe.... err....nascar TV pays him to talk about nascar. Nascar may be popular now, but that will fade very soon i think. Look at the way they are going. They are moving away from the classic races that the hardcore real fans want and more toward the "sheep" fans. And if Toyota stays true to form, they will out spend everybody, thus dominate the series. If that happens, it will kill Nascar for sure.

I guess look at it this way, it seems that the nascar insiders refer to it as the "show" and just like any show, it will fade away and get cancelled.

Huh. I like "Wind Tunnel" and don't at all consider it to be a one-sided "NASCAR show".

Sure, it's NASCAR-dominant. SpeedChannel is an American TV network covering motorsports and NASCAR is easily the most popular form of motorsports in America, but there's more to it than that.

"Wind Tunnel" also is a news show, and let's look at the news they have on any given weekend: There will be F1 coverage, interviews and commentary if there was an F1 race ... Oh, but wait, that's only every two or three weeks. There will be Champcar coverage, interviews and commentary if there was a Champcar race ... Oh, but wait, that's only every two or three weeks. There will be ...

What is news this weekend? You can be pretty sure there was a NASCAR race to report, so why shouldn't it get the lion's share of the coverage? They play every weekend.

Don't forget Dave at least has a segment on open wheel with Robin Miller even if nothing at all happened that week, and also puts on guests from the World of Outlaws, MotoGP and AMA Superbike, NHRA, ALMS and so on.

Bob, although I agree with you that Toyota could outspend Chevy, Ford, and Dodge put together, and dominate, NASCAR will NEVER let that happen. They will chage the rules on the fly (like they always do), to keep the "show". The days of best car/driver/team combo winning in NASCAR have been over for a long time.

Just look at Taledega - a few laps after the "son of NASCAR" goes a lap down, a "debris" caution is waved to allow him to get back on the lead lap. Gotta keep the ticket holders happy!!
