I'm having a hard time getting into any of the Rfactor racing. The game just feels wrong to me.I feel like I'm racing in a Ps2 game or something. The cars just feel like I'm in arcade mode.I started sim racing with the papyrus games & Nascar 2003 imho is much better than TPCC & the game is 5 years old.

Yea I can relate with you John- At first I thought the same thing and it still doesn't feel "right" but it is something you just have to get used to. Once you do it's alot of fun. F-1 SE, Fabcar and Champcar work pretty damn well IMO and the only reason I stuck it out and glad I did.
the first rFactor mod that felt somewhat OK to me was the FBMW. if you haven't already, give that a try and see what you think. rFactor's default "feel" is very different from GTR2 -- and many of the cars just seem impossible on first try -- but this is somewhat tweakable with the controller settings. one thing that helped me get a better sense of connection to the track in rFactor, was going line by line thru my GTR2 and rFactor controller.ini and player.ini files and changing any common variables to the GTR2 settings, then saving that as a new base profile. after you get used to rFactor, i would highly recommend the RealFeel plugin. but it does need a good bit of attention to get it right, and keep it right, so it would probably just confuse things to try using that right away.
I'm with you there John.I ran rfactor quite a bit early on,then when i got GTR2 ffb working well,i just found i had no feel with rfactor.Howeve, since reformatting and installing rfactor,so now i'm back to default ffb, with the latest realfeel plugin,i'm starting to get there. The open wheelers, especially the F1s are feeling good.I haven't tried the fabcar out yet and the PCC mod still doesn't feel right, but i'm going to start doing rf events again.
It's not a problem with rFactor. It's a problem with the car mods. Even the original rF cars aren't very good. If the car geometry and tire parameters are right you get something like GTR2. I had spent about 20 minutes total with GTR2 up until this week. I finally got it working with my G-Seat :) Now I can compare the two directly. I was concerned about not being able to use the RealFeel plugin with GTR2, and that I might not like the stock GTR2 FFB. Turns out you don't need RealFeel with GTR2 because steering response is already properly tied to the front tire's self aligning torque. It's easy to see that Simbin already did all the work I've tried to do with some of the rF mods. The feel I had been trying to get is already there with GTR2. The tire self aligning torque feedback helps control the car and catch oversteer. Also, the cars are inherently more stable than most rFactor mods because the tires are modeled correctly. What many have commented on as "too much grip" is actually just realistic stability in the car. So anyway, I hope rF mods start getting better!
John, I had the same exact experience you are having, the n a friend sent me his "PLR" file dropped it in and then some game tweaks and now it feels on the money for 85% of the mods.
