That was a hell of a race. 114 laps of white-knuckle 200+ MPH fury.

Got my best qualifying result EVER at Race2Play for this one. Thanks, Ron, for such a MONSTER setup.

The start didn't quite go to plan... Stalled it on pit lane just as everyone else pulled away, but I got it restarted and back in line where I was supposed to be. Whew. But the green flag dropped, and remembering my penalty at Indy, I held back, which let Heinz and Lynn by. Not a huge deal. It's early, press on.

Had some great racing with Lynn. A little contact at one point, but no blood no foul. Just a little donut on the sidepod.

When the first yellow came out, Ron and I pitted, figuring there would be another yellow later and we could take advantage of that. We came out behind Heinz and Luke, knowing they'd both have to pit and we'd leapfrog them later.

They eventually do, and Ron and I take point. We cruise for several laps, keeping one eye on the fuel gauge and the other on the track. As it's getting closer and closer to time to come in, the yellow comes out for Luke's keyboard mishap.

At the end of the 2nd yellow period, it was Ron and me at the head of the field with Heinz, having gotten his lap back, behind the pace car. Fuel was out the window at this point. My plan was to just cruise behind Ron until about 10-15 laps to go then go for it. But it was not to be. I was doing fine behind Ron, but I bobbled, had to backpedal and lost the draft. That was it. Heinz and Ron just walked away.

It was a fun race, and Ron and I got maximum points for Team Kamikaze today. On to Iowa.

BIG SHOUT to Ron for the win today. Congratulations, buddy. Awesome job. Well done to Heinz for hanging on there at the and and to Ken for a good race as well.

Well, that was a better result than Indy. I'll take it.

Qualifying was a disaster. Tried to get around a car that had been slow all throughout practice, and ended up in the wall. Tried to get back around, but I was unaware of how bad the damage was and stuffed it into another wall, killing the engine. Back of the bus.

The start of the race was almost as bad... huge amounts of lag made it almost impossible to judge, well, anything. By the second or third lap, it had smoothed out a bit, but then another car spun out in front of me, clipping the nose of my car and I had to pit for damage.

The rest of the race was spent trying not to damage the car any further, which didn't work, and holding off both Mark Dowling and Lyssimacos Maraslis, which was more successful.

Congrats (again) to Conor and to the podium. Hoping to get some Wild West redemption at Texas. See you there.

I know I should be happy with a top 10 finish—especially after last year's disaster after only 12 laps—but I'm not.

I had a great car this year. I qualified 4th, better than I ever have at Indy. I had the pace to run with the guys at the sharp end of the grid, for a change. I could have contested for a podium, if not for the outright win.

For the opening stint, I was content to run a second or two behind the lead pack, eventually picking up teammate Ron Coles in a 2-car draft. Pulled into the pits for the first yellow, which was well within the fuel window anyway. Came out of pits in great position behind Ron, but I forgot about the passing before the S/F line, which meant that I had to go in for a 10 second stop-and-go.

Came back out of the pits behind Conor, one lap down at this point. Drafted behind Conor for a number of laps and I saw a chance to get around him, and I took it. It seemed like an eternity as I stayed in front, praying for a yellow so I could stay on the lead lap. Conor seemed content (I hope) to push me along, as we were pulling away from 2nd place. It finally came, and I was able to come around and join the back of the field. Another pit stop, another restart.

The new strategy was to hook up with Michael Herring and make our way up to the front. Which almost worked, were it not for the fact that it took a long time for me to get to him and that he had an altercation with another driver.

Restart. Picked off a couple of drivers shortly after the green flag, and then waited behind another driver for the opportunity to pass. I'd duck to the inside, he'd defend. We went back and forth like that for several laps until I decided to try again. This time, I went inside, he defended, then I went outside to try that way. I'm not going to speculate as to what really happened, as this is not the right forum for it, but the result was I ended up in the wall. Race ruined.

A few mistakes later and the race was mercifully over. Late in the race I got in a 3-wide tangle with some Atlantic drivers. Sorry, fellas. I had a huge amount of momentum and couldn't back out in time.

8th place is my best finish yet in this race, but it could have been a helluva lot better.

Congrats to Heinz on the win—it was a pleasure to have you in TeamSpeak with us. Well done to the podium finishers as well.

Congrats to Conor on the dominant win and Lyssimacos and Nikita on the podium.

Did the best I could in Qualifying with a :57.4. I was distracted by one of the other people in my apartment building letting me know that I had a FedEx delivery (my new Sim Seats SR-X cockpit!) downstairs. Put in a "banker" lap, hit ESC and went down to see if I needed to sign anything, which I didn't.

The race went pretty well for me, with the exception of a few moments of brain fade, which meant that I drove most of the race with a wounded car. In the end, I am more than happy to get a top 10 in what was a very demanding race.

A result this good makes me excited for the rest of the season! See you all at Barber Motorsports Park next week.
