Well, that was ... interesting. But I'll gladly take another podium.
Got turned around in Q which tore off the nose of the car. Pulled into the garage and went back out with 3 minutes to go. Luckily, I was able to get one clean lap, but it wasn't quite enough. Qualified 5th.
For the race, I just wanted to finish clean and not make too many dumb mistakes. That didn't work so well. Made a dumb mistake early, hit something and popped a tire. Pulled into the pit, only to realize that because of the original fuel strategy I was going to try, I was short-filling the car. Oops. To make a long report short, I made a few more mistakes, but not enough to damage the car too much. I tried to save fuel on the final stint, but it wasn't enough and I had to come in for a splash.
Wow .. I didn't know exactly what happened to OG cos I just saw him sitting on the side of the road in flames.
Congrats to the winners and podiums in all classes.
To Alexandre Correa: I know you were lapping me. But since I was faster than you for at least 75% of the lap, I wasn't just going to pull over for you. Despite your constant headlight-flashing.
To Sergio Casanovas: If you're not signed up for the race, you will not be classified in the results. Since your brother gave you the password, he should be disqualified. You should not, under any circumstances, give out a password to someone who isn't signed up for the race.

Apologies to Rob Thaeler for ruining his race.
Apologies to EVERYONE for the chat. I was attempting to whisper to one driver and got the "/w" wrong.
Had my best start ever and threw it away in the first half hour. Bleh. At least I came away with some points.

Well, damn. Pleased with the result (another podium!) but disappointed with the DNF. Thanks to the train of guys (my fellow Kamikazes and Ben Jones) that tried valiantly to push my wounded car to the finish line, but it was not to be.
Q: There was a :31.5 in the car somewhere, I just didn't find it in qualifying. After literally scores of laps in preparation for this race, I thought it would have worked better. Oh well.
R: Like I said. Great result. Just the wrong ending.
Started with less fuel so I could get myself off sequence and hopefully capitalize on that. Which mostly worked... Others in front of me made mistakes, as did I. After a while, things worked out so that I even led my class for a time. But a coming-together with a GT2 Porsche tore off the nose of my car and meant that I had to call upon my pit crew to help me out.
Back on track, trying to make up for lost time.... Again I tagged the wall or something -- I don't know -- cos next time I went into the pit I didn't even know I had damage. Another 58 seconds lost. Back to square one.
Final (I thought) stint, I short-filled and threw on super soft tires so I could push like hell and maybe take advantage if Davis and Dadley had to make one more stop. But it was I who had to make a quick splash-and-go with 5 minutes left on the clock. In and out of the pits ... but the back end snapped 'round on me shortly after Turn 1 and I nosed it into the Armco, ripping off the nose and the right front wheel. I tried to limp back to the finish line, but it was not to be. Got caught in the sand and blew the engine.
A note to the GT drivers: I know most of you are running your own races. I respect that. But please please please try to keep an eye on your mirrors when that little blue rectangle pops up. Hold your line and don't do anything erratic to let me around. It's my job to pass you safely. Especially watch out for those of us with diesel engines. We're quiet. Like ninjas. The Audis more so than the Peugeots.
This race was a test of concentration and patience. For all of us. A fast track with not a hell of a lot of passing opportunities. I have a feeling Donnington Park will be the same. Except it's a shorter track, so things will be even tighter. If we have as big a field for Donnington as we had for this race -- and I hope we do -- patience will again be paramount.
Overall, a good start to what looks to be a great season.
Mental note: The strategy was good ... Will have to refine it for Donnington Park.

That was probably me you tagged Sidney. It was just not my night. I should have known in practice, but I tried anyway.
Got into the outside wall coming out of 2, and I backed off to try to save it. That's when I got hit from behind. Sorry to whomever it was -- It was totally my fault.
In the grass, trying to get back round to the pit lane, spun it again (after almost the entire field lapped me), almost coming back on track. Decided to call it a night.
It can only get better, right? See you guys at Indy.

My first race with you guys. What can I say? I had a blast.
Didn't quite qualify as well as I wanted, but was within shouting distance of the top 10. Not too shabby.
As for the race, all I wanted to do was finish. Which I did.
Apologies to Pete Soderberg: A spin on the back straight meant that I had to check up right in front of you. Sorry about that. Hope it didn't damage your truck too much.
See you guys next time.
