Race report
Intro to V8 Supercars on Dec 30, 2006
Car: Ford Falcon. Class: V8. Start: 17. Finish: 18. Laps: 29.

Congrats to Bas, Rog and Ray on their top 3 finishes and some great racing last night. I'm hoping that a little bit of Scuderia Bollesnegro will rub off on me soon. :)

I'm glad these have been fun runs because to this point I SUCK! Completely screwed up qualifying and ended up 17th. Then when the race went green whoever was in front of me apparently didn't see it and didn't go. Luckily, after an instant of accelleration I was able to get stopped before hitting him.....unluckily, whoever was behind me couldn't and punted me into the car in front which knocked me into the concrete. Damage front and rear before 2nd gear :) So there I am next to last (thanks for waiting for me James :))while the field rushes away. The damage didn't seem to be too bad and I was able to get back up to 15th or 16th. Made the mistake of not having the damage fixed on my pit stop and the car got progressively worse as the race wound down. I'm guessing that some damages can effect the car more as the race progresses (?)....anyway, I'll always fix it from now on. Despite everything I had my usual grand time racing with everyone and am looking forward to the start of the season.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
