Euro FT-A: Trois-Rivieres on Feb 19, 2008
Car: Advanced Trainer. Class: FT. Start: 8. Finish: 11. Laps: 3.

The word "rubbish" takes on a whole new meaning in my case lol :D

My rfactor career could have started off better. The first two races I failed to join completely (install/ADSL trouble). This time I got into the race, which was a victory of sorts.

Only to find out I sucked bigtime. It was unnerving to realise that I was eight (!) seconds off the pace. Aargh.

Update: Actually it was more than eight...

I figured I'd give it a go anyway and simply try and stay out of people's way and MAYBE finish the race.

That strategy didn't quite work either. Street tracks are tricky, not much place to stay out of the way...

I also missed a gearshift by one of the sharp left turns and I think my early braking point combined with the bad gearshift surprised the faster driver behind and there was a bit of contact - sorry I don't remember who it was. At least we were [technically] racing for position.

Realising I would very soon be lapped anyway I didn't want to become a moving chicane for the leaders, so I bailed out after only three laps.

I'm not a quitter though and I should really be a bit faster than today's poor showing. So I will be back, better prepared, for Laguna.

cheers and congrats to Pablo Martinez, podium & finishers
