Intro to GT3 Cup on Dec 16, 2006
Car: Porsche GT3 . Class: GT3. Start: 6. Finish: 6. Laps: 33.

Well...a disapointing finish for me, really burns. Anyways, Qualifying was a shame that I was held by a few cars, but I still started sixth, which wasn't bad. The start was good, and I was up to third quickly. After I got by my teammate Dave (sorry I had to bump you when you spun, but I'm glad it straightened you out :P) the leader got onto the sand. He reentered the track a bit early and squeezed me on the inside of one of the turns and I took some gravel, lost the balance and planted it into the barrier. I think I lost something from the front end because it was really hard to drive, understeering quite a bit more, but not as much as if I had lost the whole splitter. Right afterwards, there was some more contact between cars and all of a sudden, it was an EAGLE 1-2. I was soo glad that it turned out this way and really wanted Dave to win his first race anyways. So I just wanted to hold down second position and cruise home. Wasn't gonna happen. I chose soft tyres because I know I could have made the race in the event of a clean one, but with the damage and the added understeer/tyre wear, I began to wear the softs down pretty severly making me cut the track in one section (accidentally) and it gave me a stop/go. Man, I end up sixth, at least Dave won, so congrats to him. But the EAGLE one-two could have been much sweeter. Sixth is definitely not a good display of what my race was worth. The setup was excellent and everything could have been dandy. Even with the damage, had I had mediums (which I was contimplating) that would have been sufficient. Oh well, thats racing I guess. There were a few lap cars that were also a bit irritating.
