Well, that certainly could have been better. Started off great and fell apart all too quickly towards the end of the race. I am still climbing the steep learning curve of Green Hell but I still made too many petty mistakes.

I had to set out a few modest goals for this race considering I had zero pace against Tristan. Bringing the car home with no damage was probably what I was going after the most because if I was able to do that, it would have opened the race up if Tristan or anyone else had trouble.

For the first half of the race, I was sitting very comfortably in 2nd with a clean car. I was focused on fuel mileage and later, tire wear since I was doubling stinting my mediums. It only took a moderate brush with a guardrail to send my race in a downward spiral. The car just was not the same, especially down the straights.

An opportunity for me popped up when Tristan had his shunt with an hour left, but I really couldn't do anything with it. I was multiple seconds off my pace which was exponentially slower than Tristan's potential pace. I blew whatever chance I had left in the final sector on a quick downhill section where I got it completely wrong, sending me hard into the wall multiple times...losing my front end and knocking out the toe completely. I thought I was done for but I brought it back to the pits and after two minutes waiting, the car was fixed...nearly. It was still a handful and very loose with the softs I put on. To make matters worse, it was even slower on the straights, so I was running 12-15 seconds off pace.

With two laps left, I looped it again and lost my splitter for which I didn't much care to replace. Came home quite a bit disappointed but pleased with the 2nd place. I guess it could have been a whole lot worse...

Grats to Tristan and Rodrigo for their class wins.

See ya guys around...
