Race report
GP'79: Hockenheim on Mar 09, 2008
Car: '79 Ferrari. Class: GP '79. Start: 4. Finish: 14. Laps: 17.

Well, another fuck up for me again.

First I made an aweful qualy getting the 4th position on the grid (could had get easly pole position buy I messed it up in the last lap). Well 4th wasn't really bad at all. Made a good start positioning my car in 3rd place right behind Chirs Jansson. Then exiting T1 I saw Emilio hitting the grass and losing position so Chris and I made our moves and got 1-2 positions. Then I put my car right behind Chris so I could use his drag and just passing the middle of the first straight I could put my car side by side to Chris and we both came to the enter of first chicanne, Chris was on the inside and me on the outside and on the exit I was on the lead, Didn't realized that Chris was out due to my move. Sorry Chris if I squeezed you, wasn't my intention. After that I began to take race pace and saw Jeffrey right in my mirrors. He was 1s behind my and begining to get closer. Then I hit the gas and began to turn faster. I was getting a gap of 0,5 sec from Jeffrey in each lap. I was quite calm when the diff was about 4 secs and growing, but a mistake entering the stadium made that diff shrink to 1,2 sec again and now Scott was also in ths chase right behind Jeffrey. I squeezed my teeth and hit the gas pedal to make the gap bigger but for that moment Scott had got the second palce and was chasing me. He catch me and the only thing I could made was to drive straight has much as a could cause that ferrari wasn't so easy to sostained in a straight line. So Scott, that waving you saw, wasn't intentional it was my best effort to went in a straight line LOL. Anyway, with Scott breathing me on my back we came to stadium sector and fortunately for me Scott spun off exiting on of the last corners and so I could run away from him. The difference after that was something like 8 - 9 secs. And then came the worst thing. In lap 17 or so on, I made a terrible mistake, missed the braking point at the first chicane, tried to put the car into the track but couldn't make it, hit the curb and my car took off the track, I was literally flying, and landed on the grass upside down. The car turned automatically to his normal position but it was seriously damaged. Could get into pits, but my mechanihcs wasn't able to fix all the problems and I returned to the track with the wheel aproximately 60° turned to the right. It was almost imposible to mantained the car in a straight line so a few laps later I hit the barriers and my race ended. Shame on me, I had all for making this my first win and I totally screwed it up. Well hope next time I will make it.

Congrats to Scott for his victory (guess my setup fits you well LOL) and thanks to the rest of you for such an exciting race.

Cheers.
