My race started well, my first pole, but didn't end so well. I'd never started from pole before with a formation lap so I didn't know when to start the formation lap but it worked out ok. As I went through turn 1 Jesse came up on my outside but I didn't think he would be able to stay there through that fast turn and he didn't. He dropped in behind me for turn 2 and I was able to pull away.

All was well until lap 5 when I had a senior moment at the end of the back straight and completely bollixed up the braking, resulting in a spin. I knew Tom and Jesse were less than 5 seconds behind me so I waited for them before re-entering. I thought I could catch them and regain the lead but on when Jesse had a couple of moments on lap 7 and I thought I could see getting 2nd place back, I got over-keen and spun, nosing into the wall and killing my car.

On the bright side, I now have a pole position and lap record (for however long it lasts!) so it wasn't a total loss.
