just the temp at the track. The GTR-1 is not a high-rev engine. You are able to rev it up of course, but you also heat it up doing that. Big torque motor really doesnt need to be at high revs

Well, I accomplished what I wanted by figuring out if I could double-stint the tires in this monster. Turns out that my lap times don't drop off all that much even after 90 minutes on med/med tires, and I saved 25 seconds in pit lane by not changing rubber.
Very cool racing these things and lots of fun lapping the GT2 cars who were all excellent! No spins, no major errors on my part and a good 2nd place (first in class because Nuno is all on his own) as a result. Very pleased.

Yea that was a lot of fun. Jerry did catch me doing a little rally driving late in the race. I was just having a lot o ffun tossing the little car around and seeing how far I can drive at opposite lock.
Some of you may recall my old motto, "If you aren't opposite lock, you aren't going fast enough"

Richard, the blue flags are not enforced on our GTR2 servers. While they will still display, no penalty will be issued for ignoring it. The GT guys know well enough that sometimes they may just have to wait for a long straight to pass multiple nGT cars that are fighting for position.
But then again, that's what multi-class racing is all about... lapping and being lapped. Dont forget though, the car(s) you are racing will also have to lose time to passing/being-passed by other classes.

Personally I had a great time, even in only a 4-car race. Myself, David, and Tommy had a verbal agreement to just hang together for the first 3/4 of the race. No hot laps, no major challenges... just keep nose to tail and enjoy the drive. We did just that and even swapped positions numerous times when each other made mistakes big enough to allow a no-risk pass.
Here we are, 35 minutes into the race and still nose to tail and I was having a blast. I knew the final 2-3 laps would go balls to the wall, but until that time we were out there and having FUN. It wasn't until David got me thinking about tire wear that I lost my concentration and hammered Tommy in the final corner. I dont even think I got my foot to the brakes before hitting poor Tommy. So, the top-3 GTR-1 cars all went in to pit to get back into a pack and get Tommy fixed up. Turns out that Bill's consistent laps paid off and he took over the GTR-1 lead while we all sat there in pit lane. We had to go chase him down in the final few minutes... which was even more fun.
I really got a kick out of having all 3 classes on track. The track itself did great for multi-class racing and the cars are even better. They all have about the same cornering speeds so the only advantage one has over the other is on the straights where it is safe and easy to pass. Actually, those GT2 cars were out braking my GTR-1 which is great... very hard for me to punt them that way :-)
Lots of fun guys... I will get a few more up and running before the PLMS kicks off in May.

Wow! I dunno what happened at the start but I saw Barry disappear from the grid giving me a clean shot off my spot with no cars in front. Then David Fisher had his problems leaving the grid and I got an easy run into turn-1. Leading baby!
Scott fought me hard for a few laps but eventually learned (as many others have) that I do not pressure very easily. I ran my line and held him off until his own mistake freed me up. A few others made a grab at the lead but I kept it all the way till my first stop. From lap-1 I was in cruise mode, more concerned about brakes and other mechanical failures then I was about lap times. The last 2/3 of the race I spent driving at well below 100% just to save the car. I was confident that one or two ahead of me would have a failure so I didnt feel the need to race them.
As it turns out, I think I was the only one on a 2-stopper. It was a bad choice in the end as I was gang'g up on by all the 1-stoppers. If the field was full then the 2-stopper may have worked better, but the light number of cars allowed those heavy 1-stoppers to roll around without traffic holding them up.
Late in the race I was making up time on Aubrey and was looking at a good podium when I came up on Chen. He did nothing wrong, I just grabbed too much curb at one turn and looped it around. That ended my chase of Aubrey, but luckily Scott's engine expired to land me back on the podium.
By the way, I ran mediums all the way around and still had tires at the end. Car was perfect all race long, tire wear did not unbalance the car this time... I think I got the setup now :-)
