Race report
Euro FT: Birmingham on Dec 11, 2007
Car: Advanced Trainer. Class: FT. Start: 1. Finish: 1. Laps: 17.

A fairly tense battle during practice between 3 drivers. It turned into a bit of a mind game with a few of us doing qualifying laps. Come qualifying I was a bit surprised to have pole position. I screwed up my fast lap, could have at least had another 4 tenths up but made a few mistakes. I never managed to improve because of a mixture of traffic and lack of time.

The race was a mixure of joy and hell. Pulling away at the front, managed to get out to a 4.5 second lead. Very healthy and very nice. Rory got up to 2nd and was closing on me very slowly, but I had it under control. Then came the traffic and it was HELL. Several cars had spins and accidents in front of me, and once I even had to plough through a debris field of wings and suspension parts. When cars weren't having accidents in front of me they were generally parked on the apex are horribly slow speeds. My 4 second gap quickly went down to 1 second but luckily the traffic thinned and the laps ran out and I held it. It's probably not good for a race winner to be complaining, but man that traffic was bad.

My second win in Race2Play and my first win for Team Shark. I've only done 9 races so don't appear in the ranks yet, but it's currently at 8.165 before this race, so looking forward to a good rank battle.

Congrads to the rest of the podium, you made it difficult. :)
