Well, i dont know what to say.
Firstly, thank you all for many reasons. Thanks for being kind and giving an inexperienced racer a chance here. Thanks for your kind words of congratulations after the race.
The race itself was a hard one for me.
I nearly didnt make the stat line due to me faffing around in the garage. So when the lights went green for the formation lap my heart was already thumping harder than my sub woofer. As we went around the lap i was thinking over and over in my head about the rules that you have to abide by here at r2p.
We all lined up at the grid and the lights went green. I had, probably the best start i have ever had and it was just enough to slip into 1st at T1, but only just!
I had a good opening lap and somehow managed to pull out a second to craig as we went across the strip for the first time. After that tho, craig was faster by a few tenths per lap and i found myself spending more time looking in the mirrors than the road.
The laps after that were spent trading a few tenths and at one point i thought craig had me as he closed in. Very give and take, then i noticed that he dropped back suddenly and i thought this is my chance. I eased a little bit but i stated to com up against back markers, one of which wanted to race and overtook me again.
wow those things are fast in a straight line.
I was lucky really because i think craig would have pushed me all the way to the finish had he not had his porblem.
I look forward to racing here again.
In the mean time.
Good luck and take care.
Ian
