Great first race back after a couple of years out and despite my own silliness costing me the podium, I'm really thrilled with the race.
Trois is always a high attrition track and I'm stoked that I even managed to keep it out of the walls for 40 minutes (just!)
Had a good start and just about managed to clear the carnage down into Turn 3 - though I feel sorry for poor Joco as with Rogier in the wall and me making a move on the inside he had nowhere to go.
Made a little mistake at the beginning of Lap 2 which allowed Nikola past. I managed to hold Cory at bay for a bit until I double-shifted into first running under the arch - how I managed to keep the car out the wall as I spun perplexes me somewhat! I then pushed like a maniac to try and catch Cory (beating my Quali time by some six tenths as I did so!) and eventually caught and passed him after he made a couple of mistakes.
He kept me honest for a bit until I realised that my big push in the middle of the race was about to cost me big time - I had to make a splash 'n' dash for fuel a couple of laps from the end which cost me 2nd.
But all in all, I'm over the moon with 4th in my first race back, and thanks to Cory for keeping my race thrilling all the way through!
