Yet another race where we seem to have some guys who don't know what a "Manual Formation Lap" is, which is clearly stated in the Series Notes. Instead of waiting for the car ahead to start, they either do a full racing start or just barge through the grid anyway grabbing several places and then not giving them back when they realize that others are not actually racing.
From my qualified 9th I didn't argue the case and remained in 12th on the formation lap. Following Barrett into the Chase Chicane on L2, I got T-Boned by a car from behind who didn't think that his brakes wouldn't be as good when he was missing a lot of bodywork and had other damage after hitting the wall at the top of the mountain. This pushed me into the gravel loosing nearly 30 secs on Barrett and the cars who passed me whilst stranded.
I had some good pace here and closed down on Sentola & Barrett, but was caught out by how much Alan braked going into the Sulman Park turn, causing me to run into him and hit the wall. After the necessary pit-stop I tried to make up the ground again, but after hitting the wall coming out of Sulman, I had to settle for 7th.
Well done to Umberto, Reinhard, Jules & Paul. You guys always amaze me with your speed & consistency over a race distance. Well done on a good race and to the BVR Team for getting 4 cars to the finish.
CYA all at Fuji for the final race of this series.

From what I saw this was a good clean race with respectful driving from everyone.
I never did my setup dialled in as I would have liked and was suffering with too much brake lockup and mid-corner understeer and exit oversteer,so was having to tread carefully.
I'll certainly consider this track for other series in future,as it has a good flow to it and can be attacked with confidence, if you're happy with your setup that is ;)
BIG congratulations to Jules on a dominant Drivers Championship win and everyone who joined the series along the way. It makes the sponsorship worthwhile, when you get a decent number of entries.

Great track for these cars made this a very nice event for me.
Got a decent start and took the inside line at La Source, which took me ahead of Jules, although it looked like he left plenty of room. Ran 2nd for a couple of laps until he got into his stride, which meant I then had Phil breathing down my neck.
We swapped places a couple of times until he dropped back and I pulled away in a solid 3rd. After Mike worked back up to the front following an early spin, I noticed Fahn and Phil were keeping me in touch, but the gap stayed enough for me not to worry. But I think Phil had a problem which then gave Fahn the chance to move up towards me.
It looked like he was quicker in Sector 2 and I was quicker in Sector's 1&3, so the gap didn't come down too quickly. I then came up to Klaus at the Bus Stop and lost a couple of seconds, so it was game-on for a podium finish.
I lost a bit more time passing another car and then 2 laps from the end, half-spun at La Source which gift-wrapped 3rd for Fahn. Well done to Mike coming from so far back for the win, especially against Joules who has been very strong in this series.
Grats to all who got to the end and I hope you enjoyed the car/track combo as much as I did. I hope we get a good turnout for the series finale at Croft, which should also suit these cars very well. I remember spectating here years ago and watching these very cars perform their stuff and couldn't believe how fast they were.
